juggling with daily calories...

hey everyone! i wonder if any of you have/had this problem: i am 22 years old, 5'2" and 112lbs. I try to eat about 1500 cal per day, on days I workout. when i dont work out, i try to aim at 1300. lately i have just been trying to listen to my body, and i find that I am higher than 1500 (around 2000) when i just go with the flow. i did this for a week, but i gained 1.5 pounds. I don't understand, I dont want to be hungry, but I don't want to gain weight! I can't seem to find a happy middle ground. any suggestions? thanks in advance :)
