Personally, I love the show. I realize it's a reality show so I know to take it with a whole truckload of salt.
I've never really wanted to have kids, but somehow when I watch this show it makes me think "Hmmm, maybe I could have just one". I enjoy the show for what it is and find that while people make think they asked for it (publicity), it's the tabloids that fuel that fire. The show itself doesn't make people want to know if one of them is cheating. It's the articles in magazines that point out that "OMG, he went to dinner with a woman who wasn't Kate". As though a husband is only allowed to have male friends and a wife only female friends, and oh the two may only eat dinner out with each other.
Regardless of whether the allegations made in the tabloids are true or not I sincerly hope that they will stop the show. No matter how much I love it, I would rather they stop the show and focus instead on their children and their marriage.

I saw last night on the Insider that they have an open marriage and that she made a deal with him: he can have girlfriends if he will agree to continue with the show and the facade, for the money for the kids of course. This was according to her brother and sister in law who were interviews and who were told that by Jon himself. This is all ridiculous.

I'm not sure I believe the brother. I'm wondering if they have been paid for these interviews? They haven't spoken to any non-tabloid news shows as far as I know... just the ones with the reputation of paying... (As a former journalist, it's very fishy when sources require payment...) Not sure they have gotten paid.. just speculation on my part. From what I can tell from watching them for the past several years, Kate seems to be pretty no-nonsense, and they both seem to be pretty religious. I definitely don't see them in an "open" marriage or lying for the sake of money. They are pretty set financially probably and wouldn't need to keep up the lie.
One thing that still bugs me though, why did they renew their wedding vows last year if the marriage was on the rocks?

Emasculated!!!! That is exactly how my brother describes this show, too. Poor Jon. I know that he married her, but sometimes people change. I have to hope that Kate wasn't so "emasculative" when they were dating.
They both just seem so shallow and hungry for the money and material things that their unusual birthing process and results gave to them. I am sure that they ultimately love their children, but you gotta feel for these kids who will deal with the repercussions of Jon and Kate's decisions the rest of their lives.
Now what kids don't deal with the repercussions of the decisions of their parents? none. But the difference between me not letting my kid get a dog, or making them take piano lessons is not the same thing...and these two are like celebrity MESSES now and the price will be steep for these kids.
It would be nice to see them invest their money, go into seclusion and mend their family (immediate and extended).
