Hi ladies!!!

I just found out I was pregnant last Friday! I took about a zillion tests over the weekend because I just couldn't believe it.

This will be our first and I'm a bit nervous about it! I'm hesitant to excercise in fear that it may cause a problem, although I know that it is healthy to keep up the same level of excercise I was doing before I knew! Wendy, I'm inspired by how you were able to maintain your workouts throughout your pregnancy - were you nervous at all about it? How did you get over it (if you were!)!

I've just ordered the 2 beginner/intermediate step workouts which I can hopefully use throughout the pregnancy. Do you guys find that these workouts are good for you? Do you think they're too simple or ineffective after being used to doing the advanced workouts? I'm eager to try them because at least I'll be doing SOMETHING!!

Good luck to all the other preggos out there! :7

Ruppie, congrats! I knew it seems unreal when that test comes back positive. We look foward to seeing you on the moms to be check in. In terms of exercise, do what you feel comfortable with. I still am not modifying although some of my jumps are lower now for fear of peeing on myself.lol. With my first pregnancy by about month 5, my body couldn't leave the ground and I switched to low impact. If you get am sickness and fatigue, just do what feels right for your body but remember the baby is safely tucked inside you.

Congratulations, Ruppie

I use the beginner/intermediate workouts a lot now that I am well into my 3rd trimester. In the beginning I did not have to modify much, but as my body changed, I responded by lowering the step height and not jumping, etc. My weight training routines have stayed pretty the same except that after the first trimester, all work on my back is now done on an incline. Also, I have lowered the amount of weight I do when doing leg work. After all, I've got several (?) extra pounds to hoistx( :p .

Anyway, like Shopaholic said, just listen to your body and modify accordingly.

Come join us on the expecting moms thread.

Maggie:)
