Jari Love's Ripped and Chiseled

Has anyone gotten this video and tried it out? I am really curious to see what Catheites think of it. I was using Jari's Slim and Lean and Get Ripped to the Core until I discovered Cathe back in June. Now I am totally hooked on various Cathe weight (and other!) videos. I am currently doing a Slow and Heavy rotation and loving it.

Is Ripped and Chiseled worth a try, for variety?

Aim for nothing, and you'll hit it every time!

I have one of her workouts, she freaks me out though, I cannot look at her (too scrawny) and cannot stand the workouts, just my two cents!:)

Hello Ann,

I don't have this workout, but I do have Get Ripped, Get Ripped Slim & Lean and Get Ripped To The Core. I have done them several times and enjoyed them and, at first, I thought they were tougher than Cathes' ME and Power Hour but that is not the case. I have not used them for a while, not because of the workouts themselves but because I am doing different strength training right now.

I agree with the previous poster though, Jari is far too scrawny in her subsequent videos. In Get Ripped, I thought she was lovely but by To The Core she does look underweight. She is probably not a good role model for young girls. She looks like an anorexic.

I have Slim and Lean and wasnt impressed. Alot of the weight work I felt seemed harder than it was b/c of some isometric component to the exercise. Plus, she's too scrawny and never smiles. I still have it but would be happy to sell it someone.

Thank you all for answering! You know I hadn't really thought about her weight and the role model issue - but you're all absolutely right, she started to look scrawny/anorexic at some point and that's not a model for anyone.

I have Ripped to the Core, and I like the workout for a circuit/total body day add on to a 3 day split. Yeah, she looks like a Barbie doll, and her commentary is enough to make me hurtle a dumbbell at the tv, but the workouts are actually pretty good. I can only take her in small doses, though.

I DO enjoy GR1000, GRTTC, and S&L for variety. I've gotten used to Jari's VERY calm demeanor and I actually apprecaite it on the days I reach for a Ripped workout. I refused to purchase R&C b/c it took her so dang long to release this workout that she had filmed for ions before she finally let her fans have it! She didn't want it interfering with her promotional press for her other workouts. Anyway, I hope to pick this up at Ross for WAY cheap like I did all her other workouts. All that to say, that I enjoy Jari's workouts for variety but I can't speak for R&C. I went to VF looking for a thread that I thought gave specific reviews of R&C to post it here for you, but I couldn't find it....

I really enjoy Jari - she is calm and reassuring, and using the proper weights, I get an excellent workout - Cathe's stuff sometimes just goes on too long! And by today's research, that's not necessary!
I do agree she is too thin.

I like Jari's videos and very compatiable with all the others I have including Cathe. I did her original Ripped yesterday. That is a tough workout. Her appearance doesn't bother me at all.

I am waiting to get either at Ross or Firm Yaya's. It is on Christmas wish list!!!

I really like Jari. I have met her in person and she has a very small frame. I think she would be one of those people who are naturally very thin even if she wasn't a fitness instructor. Any way, last year when I decided to start working out again, I started with her videos and they really helped to jump start me. I have ordered Ripped & Chiseled from Amazon but it will be awhile before it comes.

I enjoy Jari's workouts, but I could do without the incessant "carb burning" talk, and I do think that she lost weight, in not a good way, after the first workout. In one of them, when she said that Ripped was the program she and Laura were on, and you can see the results they both got, I looked at Laura and thought "Yeah, she looks good!" and I looked at Jari and thought "Yikes, if that's what happens from following the Ripped system, I won't be using it that often!"

But in one of her earlier workouts shes says "I've been overweight - I know what it's like..." So to me it seems like she has worked hard to get down to her current weight, which to me does not appear too healthy or attractive. I probably would prefer the "overweight" Jari LOL! HOWEVER, I love her as an instructor, love all the Ripped series, the moves are great, love the high-rep lower-weight format. I just got Ripped and Chiseled from Collage and am looking forward to it.
