January Rotation checkin - Jan 14

Good morning fitness folks...

I know today is rest day for some of you, but on top for today for me is PUB and a 30 min run. Hopefully the weather cooperates for my run. I want to get this done this morning before I head down to DD's for a day of shopping.

Yesterday's MIC (hi/lo) and L&G's was not bad at all, nothing compared to LM/IMAX2 combo the day before. I ate Mexican last night and didn't quite stick to portion control on the chips but did already on the meal. I didn't worry too much about it. I'm burning over 3,000 calories a week with this rotation, burning even more this week.

Well coffee is done. Have a good day everybody. Rest day tomorrow, YAY!!!

I'll be starting the PUB and the run shortly. Are we really burning 3000 caories per week? That is encouraging. I am glad to be sticking with this roation and sticking with manageable healthy eating habits. Doing 6 cardios per week has been great conditioning. And, these check in's are really positive aren't they? I look forward to reading them daily.

Did your DOMS return in your glutes after L&G yesterday?

Hey Judy... no DOMS for me except what has been there all week in the glutes from the continuous exercise!

My HRM says I burned 3,476 calories for the six days last week and I'm on track to burn more than that this week. I'm burning 500 to 600 calories with these w/o's says my Polar F4. I have these parameters in my Polar F4 - 5'6", 135 pounds, female, 44 years old. I know a smaller person will be burning fewer and a heavier person more but that gives you an idea of what you'd be burning if you are close to my parameters.

Judy, Jane's sweet potato smoothie is AWESOME! I try to ALWAYS have baked, frozen SP in my freezer now. I like it best with cinnamon and sometimes add a little vanilla n/f yogurt to make it extra creamy . It's like dessert!!

Woke up early to get the workout out of the way. Lots of running around to do! I had a really nice 35 minute run. It was quiet at 5am! I left my dog at home cuz she tends to stop and sniff too much. It felt wierd leaving her behind. Felt like I was cheating on her! :) PUB was a nice change for me. My shoulders are sore though!
I have no DOMS from yesterdays leg work. Actually I feel stronger lately. Have a great wekend. Enjoy your rest day!! Susan
 
Susan, I'm feeling very strong today also. PUB was a nice change today. I am really missing the upper body work. The run was so nice. Runs aren't work for me, hence the name, luvtorun, well I DO!!! Nothing like letting the feet eat up the miles while your mind wanders and relaxes.

I'm taking a rest day today, although I really do need the upper body. Perhaps I'll change mty mind later and try to fit in PUB.

I too love this rotation and find this checkin immensely helpful!! There's just something great when you know a bunch of other folk are going through the same thing.

Jane, I don't think I have the same calorie burn as you, but it's all relative. I know it's over my usual. I have been lots hungrier and my diet choices haven't been the greatest. This rotation has certainly done the trick to balance that out!

Which HC WO is everyone starting with next? My choice will depend on wether or not I get some upper body in today.

DD and I are off to Trader Joes and Boscov's. I LOVE to shop!!

Good morning ladies,

Today, I did the PUB upper body premix and Tracie Long's BBB workout and then I added the 30 minute run. Unfortunately, I do have DOMS from L& G yesterday and I was just getting over the DOMS from the KM leg condition drills earlier this week ;). I'm so happy rest day is tomorrow:)!

Hey Girls. Funny that a couple of you mentioned that you felt strong today. That's exactly what I was thinking this morning while I was running. In fact, I extended the run by another 10 minutes because I just wasn't ready to stop. It was my bad luck that it rained the whole time I was out there but at least it wasn't too cold.

One thing I dread about PUB is the biceps section. I always struggle with getting those last few reps done. On the curls for some reason, if I go lighter in weights it's not quite hard enough but if I go heavier it's just a little too much. I have platemates but they only work on my heaviest dumbbells. I think next time I'll try to incorporate my new barbell and find that optimum weight combination.

Since we're sharing, I just added up my calories burned for the week (I have a Polar A5). It came up to 2,092. I'm 5'5", 139 pounds and 47 years old. Given my normal calorie burn, I've estimated that I will burn an extra 3000 calories by the end of the month.

For those of us resting tomorrow, enjoy your day off. We're half way through our rotation. Yay!
 
I completely agree about the biceps!!!! Today I chose to go lighter and did them with 8#-10#-12# and it was tough enough for me! They seem like they will never end!!!

Today I was at Sam's Club and I ended up buying The Biggest Loser dvd. It was only $9.24 so I figured, what the heck.

It looks pretty good just from what I am reading on the box.
Warm up 5 min.
Low- intensity cardio 25 min.
High -intensity cardio 20 min.
Strength & sculpt 20 min.
Boot camp 20 min.
Cool-down 20 min.

It seems to me you could combine a couple of those to get a decent workout. Even if they don't seem nearly as tough as Cathe- which I'm sure is true, heavier weights could help make it harder.
Also it has music only option, which I think I'll like.

Anyway, I just wanted to share........:)
 
I ended up taking a rest day yesterday. I was just too tired. I had a bad week of insomnia so I just let myself rest. I am going to go to the gym today for cardio and PUB. I have a busy busy day today! OMG I am overwhelmed just thinking about it. Gotta get to it!
