Good morning ladies...

Today I am going to try another Hiit workout. The 30/30 workout...I got all the decorations done yesterday. Vic just needs to drag the tree outside then I can vacuum up and we can put the furniture back in place...

Ok, be back later to chat...

:)Good Morning!

Hey Kathy! Did you do 30/30?? I just finished! Cool workout, it got my HR UP there, I think I may have seen 179 at one point  and felt like spitting.. LOL!. It was good though, just long enough too. Not as hard as Cardio Core Circuit, for which I was grateful for. I added on the MMA: Boxing Abs because I didn't get them done the other day.

So I am now officially DONE with the STS 3 months rotation! I have to say, I definitely liked it better the 2nd time around. Not that I didn't like it the first time, it was just a bit easier to know what to expect.

Hottie: Your dinner sounded so good yesterday! Though I'm not sure what any of those dishes taste like...LOL! I saw a recipe for "Keema". well, it's a revamped recipe, made healthy. Have you had that before? It sounded yummy! But I have to get some tumeric and I'm not sure if I have curry powder.... hope your cough is better today. Keep the liquids up, keep moist. Do you have a humidifier at night? Esp. if Joe is running the heat. If you don't have a humidifier, you can place a glass/cup of water right in front of the heating vent to moisten it up a bit. ...... Hey! Is baby trying in your 2010 plans this year?? How exciting! !! I'm excited!! Let's have a baby!!!

Hey to Joanne and Beth!!!! And Vilma if you're out there!!!

I can not believe it's Saturday. the working weekend will go fast though, and then I'll have the week off WITH the boys back in school.

Morning! Oh my friends didn't leave until midnight which was nice. The food came out great (except for the thing I BOUGHT)...I'm actually a little saddened there's not much lamb curry left! This always happens -- I spend quite a fair bit of time cooking and I have no desire to eat it when everyone else is (also my taste was off because of still being sick). But super fun.

Kathy -- HiiT sounds great today! I really want to try athletic step today but I have to prep for my tutoring session first!

Yes, Chris -- I know Keema. Actually, Joe likes it more than i do and I think I only know the healthier version. My mom always used ground turkey instead of minced beef or lamb. And turmeric is the essence of curry powder. Curry powder is a blend of turmeric, chili, cumin, ginger, garlic and it differs from household and region to region. I make everything from scratch and I tailor it to the people I cook for (so I had one real weakling yesterday so I made everything but one dish relatively mild). So, I always tell people to buy the individual ingredients instead of the blend so they can hone the dishes to their own taste. I'm *this* tempted to get a humidifier. I keep some water next to me but the vent is up on the ceiling in our bedroom and I can't seem to keep the air moist (on top of desert air). We turned off our air purifier until I get better as well because it was drying me up too. Yeah, we'll see -- I think this is the year we'll decide if we're going to go the kids route. Not sure when this year, but I we both know we've been sort of "putting it off" and we've been talking about it more. It's weird because we're going through our own issues right now but at the same time just keep chugging along what we were on path to do.

Oh, it can't be Saturday! Too much to do!

Hi ladies..

Just finished up with 30/30...

Chris: Yes, I did 30/30 and I really liked it too. It wasn't as tough as 40/20. But, I was huffing and puffing anyway. I thought it was long enough. That one would be good to do with an ab workout like you did. I was done after the workout and looking forward to tomorrow being a rest day..Congrats on finishing STS again. I liked the 2nd time better too. Probably because we pretty much knew what to expect..

Hottie: Glad you had a good time with your friends. We love doing that too. We have a few friends that we switch houses with and we all bring something and the hosting house makes the main course or the meat course. I usually opt for the dessert. I love baking. Have fun with your workout....

Hey Again...

Hottie: Sounds like a fun night there. I know it's the same for me, when I cook and cook, I'm not always in the mood to eat much after I'm done. How did Joe's ham come out? ... thanks for the advice on keema. So all I really need to get is tumeric. I may try it next week! I'll let you know. ... I think I've told you before, Greg and I were married 5 or 6 years before we started trying for babies. We traveled and had a lot of fun. Did Antigua, Disney and more local stuff too. It was like an extended "honeymoon". In fact, even though we knew we wanted kids at some point, it didn't kick in until later (and boy did it kick in! ... 3 boys later!)

Kathy: 40/20 kind of scares me! LOL!... Is it as torturous as Cardio Core Circuit? That one kicked my BUTT big time. I really didn't care for doing plyometrics and being so out of breath and then having to concentrate on those weird ab moves. The ab moves didn't work so good for me (some of them). I was thinking of maybe starting STS again in April, so i'd finish just in time for summer short sleeves!

Chris: I will probably be up for another STS round by then too...40/20 is tough. It is just as bad as CCC. The only difference is that there was no core after the cardio. But, that 20 second rest was over way too fast and those jumps onto the step are hard/tough..I liked the break in 30/30...I could have gone a little longer with that style. But, I was glad I was done...

HI ladies...

I saw that Cathe posted her 3 month rotation with STS and shock cardio...Looks good! She also stated in that post that January is going to be the first cycle of this rotation. So, I think I may look back at a couple of her rotation that I missed when I was doing STS and pick something. What is everyone else doing?

Hey Kathy! Well, yesterday neither Joe and I didn't work out and opted to eat ice cream all day. Though it rocked, today we changed gears. New year, right? I did Athletic Step -- uber uber uber fun! It's going to be a fav I'm sure. (I think it's way harder than Step Moves!) But I was really coughing a storm and I needed a lot of breaks. But I'm sure once the cough goes away it'll be a lot more fun. I tacked on the finished product of Step Moves and then walked Evee for a little over a half mile and did the stretch from Step Moves. I'm sort of sad that they didn't decide to combine Step Moves and Athletic Step aren't on the same disc for some awesome premixes. I wonder if they'll do a compilation disc later? Kathy -- I'm not going to do STS again -- I'm waiting for Cathe to put a January rotation, but it's definitely going to be a cardio and circuit month for me. I'm thinking about doing Circuit Blast tomorrow -- I'm definitely going to try a HiiT workout on Tuesday since I'm short on time on Tuesdays...where's everyone else?

Hey Girls!

Not doing too bad for it being Sunday and my weird work schedule. But man, I'm sick of the whole work thing now!

I'm thinking about what rotation to do too. I even debated on doing Cathe's JAN 10 Rotation, just the 1st 4 weeks, and doing Meso 1 again. But, I don't think so. Not if I'm planning on doing the entire STS in April again.

I'm really wanting to stick with heavier weights. I'm looking at Fitness Freak's December 08 and January 09 rotations, and subbing some shock cardios for her suggested cardios. I'd love to do 2 days of heavy lifting and then the 3rd weight day of circuit. Do you guys know any rotations like that?

I guess I have a week to think about it, it's "Recovery Week" for me. I'm going to have fun with Shock Cardio and some Turbo Jams this week!

Hottie: It's WAY too cold to even think of ice cream for me. It's been SOOOO windy and cold here for the last 2-3 days, plus we get these snow showers that whip around the snow like little tornados. It's good snuggling weather, maybe with hot chocolate though! LOL!. ... I agree. I wish there were more premixes with the Shock Cardios. I guess you could just do Athletic Step and follow it up quick with Step Moves, butit's a PIA to switch the DVDs.

Hottie: Great workout day for today. I think you made up for the ice cream yesterday. Ice cream is my downfall. I can not resist it!!

Chris: I am considering doing my own rotation. I thought of doing a cardio then a either full body weight workout or a lower body then cardio then a weights with cardio day then cardio then maybe a full body weight or upper body. I thought of pulling out the pyramids. I haven't done those in a while....That is my plan...I am thinking tomorrow I might put in either step moves or athletic step again. I don't want to forget the combos..

Hey everyone! We're back! Had a great time, but it's great to be home. The drive wasn't too bad (either way). I really expected to hit traffic today and we hit none -- not even any in the spots one normally does!!

It was great to spend time with family -- lots of laughing and fun game playing -- Buzzword is the new favorite!! I only did the one workout on the treadmill. I may still go for a walk with Larry in a bit if he ever gets off the phone -- or something! I should do something, but it is getting to be dinner time.

I skimmed your posts.... sounds like the Jan. rotation has meso 1 in it, so that is not for me (well, it could be, but I'm moving on). I'm going to do my week of cardio (or not quite, since I'm a couple of days in), and try to get psyched up for meso 2 -- I'm thinking about creative ways to change it up -- we'll see.

I saw the baby planning comment and smiled because we had some philosophical chats, too, and my cousins, who are both 60, well, Larry picked their brains for how we should make the most of our 50s. One of them said we should have more kids -- adopt more kids! -- since it's really too late to have them. I don't think that's happening. We have joked about it at times, but I can't see us doing that. On the drive home I was brainstorming a sort of planning for the year, where every month we have some plan of something to do -- a trip or a project or whatever. And different categories as well -- vacations, sports/physical fitness, projects/hobbies, academic, etc. I've got to start writing things down before I forget!

Don't know if anyone will even see this..... hope you've been enjoying the weekend. Chris, you survived the crazy days of work!! Yay!
