Jane/Gayle Cross Fit -again!

Hi Gayle and Jane. Just thought I'd let you both know I just got back from my vacation and my cross fit workout with my little brother and I survived. He called it "angie"

100 assisted pullups
100 boy push ups
100 air squats
100 sit ups

It took me 21 imnutes and 47 seconds.
I am feeling the major DOMS in my abs and back but boy am I hooked. Yikes! I just really wanted to thank you both for your advice. It really helped! I'm going to start slowly incorporating these workouts 2 times a week. Talk about mental toughness. Like Cathe says in pyramid upper body- "I'm starting to have a outer body experience." I had to push and push and then push myself to get through. Hopefully those unassisted pull ups will be somewhere in my future. Thanks.

I knew you could do it!! Isn't it a great feeling when you are challenged and push through and complete something you never thought you could do.

Now that you did Angie, you can try Murph.

1 mile run
100 pull ups
200 push ups
300 squats
1 mile run

Angie was one of my first. I had to split it into 2 sets of 50 with jumping pull-ups.

Really excellent job!
 
Thanks again ladies! Shelly I didn't realize you cross fit too! Jane, . . I'll have to give that one a go. If there are any others that you gals think I should add to my rotation, . . PLEASE let me know. The website is great but a little overwhelming for a newbie to navigate through. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
 
100 assisted pull ups and 100 boy push ups??? I would need days to complete :)!!! My upper body needs some serious strength, it would appear. Way to go on your first cross fit adventure. Sounds fun - after reading the websites, I am trying to put together my own little bits of what they do into some workouts. The workouts look super - have fun :eek:

I did "Angie" tonight. I knew of the workout but didn't have a pull up bar until just recently. What a great workout! Afterwards I went out and did 100 swings. Whoa!! It took everything I had to get those 100 swings out.

Here's another workout I got from a Crossfit affiliate that you might enjoy.

100 Jump Ropes ~ 10 push ups
50 Sit ups ~ 10 push ups
45 Kettlebell Swings ~ 10 push ups
40 Walking Lunges ~ 10 push ups
35 Box Jumps OR Step ups ~ 10 push ups
30 Squats ~ 10 push ups
25 Med Ball Slams ~ 10 push ups
20 Kettlebell High Pulls (Upright Rows) or Pull ups ~ 10 push ups

I occasionally lurk on the Crossfit threads here and often wonder how long it would take this 47-year old woman to ever get fit enough to do this stuff. It sounds so beyond human capability...

I am a 47 year old women and I can do it. You can too!!! You can always modify the exercises or cut the reps in half and do it that way.
 
Stacey - I'll be 45 in a few months and I can do it! I always need to modify the weight, but it's so much fun! Give it a try!
