OK, I saw you were on the forums. Either respond to my post or my PM! I am dying to hear about my BF!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed it but would have been better w/o DH in tow. If you've ever been to the taping of a show then you know they treat you like cattle. I've been to Letterman and the Daily Show so I was prepared. DH on the other hand whined the whole time were in line (2 hours). We almost didn't get in, we were among the last ten. We didn't get to sit together, which I was secretly happy about because by this point DH was becoming a major PITA. In a way it's better to watch it on TV. Bill Maher does not come out to talk to the audience before the show, there just a really lame warm up guy, and during the show the panel has three cameras on them that totally block the view. I like Bill Maher's show a lot and have been a fan since he was on Comedy Central (before ABC) but I must admit I get the feeling he does not like engaging his audience in any way. When the show was over he left the stage immediately. The guests lingered a bit talking amongst themselves but Bill was out of there. Was he rushing off to meet up with you, Laura? ;)
All in all Jon Stewart was my favorite. He came out before the show and took real questions from the audience. Letterman's show was a perfectly oiled machine. He took one audience question which I'm convinced was planted and basically gave the impression that he could do the show in his sleep. I feel a little shallow because even though there were four extremely intelligent guests on Bill's show I would have liked to see a big star. And one last thing, we watched the recording last night and I saw myself in the audience. It's less than a second but I was on TV!:D

STFU! You were on TV? When? I'll have to scope it out.......

Nah, he wasn't rushing to meet up w/me........this time. ;)

You know, I kind of get that sense about Bill. As much as I adore him, I have a feeling he thinks he's better & smarter than everyone else (which he is, & which I am, which is why we'd be perfect together :D:D:D). I actually know a friend of a friend (and yes I am working on a blind date LOL) who says his writer turnover is constant--at least one gets fired on almost a weekly basis. He also told me (bear in mind this is third hand) that Bill needs to, ummm, release pressure 30 minutes before every single show.

Actually the only thing I've heard about him so far that really bothers me is that he's a frequent guest of the Playboy Club. I'd have thought a liberal wouldn't be into objectifying women, but there ya go. And if that's the type he goes for, he sure ain't going for me!

Oh well, sorry your experience wasn't the best. I'll invite you to our wedding, that way you can at least throw down an organically brewed beer w/him.

Well that explains why he doesn't address the audience before the show:p

As for the Playboy mansion I believe when asked why he goes there so often he replied "The food is fantastic!"

I, too, often get the feeling that he thinks he's better than most people but when I'm feeling generous I tell myself that maybe he is just shy. Oddly enough a lot of entertainers are.

If you have the show recorded you can see me at the very end of the audience sweep at the beginning of the show. I'm in the lower right of the screen and I'm wearing a beige headband type thingy. I had to use freeze frame to find me.

OK I'll watch again & look for you. :D

You know, it occurred to me, he does Overtime on HBO.com right after the show. Maybe that's why he had to bolt?

Yeah, ummm, great food at the Playboy Mansion. Just like great articles in the Playboy Magazine.

No, they do overtime right there in the same place, same people. He bolted after that.
