Hi!

Foe any of you who have been through IVF, did your workout schedule change? I heard that you should not do aerobics or lift heavy weights after the retrieval on...Anyone have any advice? Thanks

Jenni

Hi Jenni,
I am currently 7 weeks pregnant through IVF. I didn't do much of any exercise after transfer. I still haven't gotten back into a routine because this was my last chance at having a baby, so I am extra cautious.
My sister was my egg donor, so I didn't got through a retrievel. I didn't read your post thourouly, so I didnt realize you were asking after retrieval.
My RE told my sister to take it easy for a few days and not to lift my nephews for a couple of days either.
Hope that helps,
Lizzy

Lizzy,

Thank you so much for your advice. I am going to take two days of work after both the retrieval and transfer...I am a PE teacher, so I need to relax!! (excuses, excuses!) Anyway, CONGRATS on your pregnancy - you give me hope! Was that your first IVF?

Jenni

Hi Jenni,
That was my first IVF. Thank God it worked because my insurance paid for none of it. Almost 20K. YIKES!! I went through 8 inseminations with injectables, but my FHS is very high so I didn't respond well.
My sister was kind enough to be a donor. She is older than me 37 and the RE said we had about a 25% chance of success.
There is a great site called Fertilitext that I went on alot for advice and motivation. You should check it out. I learned so much from there.
Anyway, best of luck and keep positive!!! Please let me know how everything turns out!!!
Lizzy
ps. I also did acupuncture
