I've been such a PIG today!

Well, it's nearing TTOM and it usually doesn't affect me like it has today. I've been eating pretty clean for a few weeks but it caught up with me today....

Breakfast - McD's yogurt parfait and an Egg McMuffin (I hadn't had one of those in forever!) plus 1 bowl of Apple Jacks. I was so stuffed!

Lunch - Short Stop burger and fries. I LOVE Short Stop! It's a small drive-thru only burger joint with cheap, little chargrilled burgers and the best fries. It's my favorite fast food place. DH says I'm a cheap date :) but I LOVE chargrilled burgers and they make them perfect!

snack - we were at the mall and I had one of those chewy choc. cookies from the Cookie Company. I have to admit it didn't quite satisfy me. (I think I needed milk.)

Dinner - I had a craving for mexican food all week. I had fajitas with beans and rice and 3 (yes, 3!) tortillas! THEN, as if that weren't enough, I had an ice cream come with fat free yogurt.

*SIGH* Now, I'm sitting here eating 2 cookies I made from cookie dough ds sold from a fundraiser from school. At least I have milk this time. ;)

I swear tomorrow I will eat clean!x(

I knew i heard oinking today!!!:p :+ Girl, i did that yesterday! i had a burger and tater tots for lunch and pasta for dinner and taco bell after the club!!! I'm only admitting this so you know you ain't the only pig!

sometimes, you just have to eat dirty!

btw, that cookie sounds killer!:9

That's okay, Laura. Sometimes a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do just to get herself thru! I think you set yourself up for the marathon with breakfast! The Apple Jacks tipped the scale (no pun intended!) Don't fret...tomorrow's a new day! We've all "been there".

oink, oink, oink.... (hanging head in shame)

I DO think the Egg McMuffin set me up. (Sounds like a crazy animated B movie, haha...) I was thinking when I told dh this morning to get that and the yogurt parfait that I should JUST get the parfait but the devil on my other shoulder was pressuring me....}(

Thanks, Jes for joining in on dirty eating support with me...

If you're the pig, I'm the fatted calf -

Just came back from Passover Seder, which includes about an hour of prayers followed by a river of food, all of it good and none of it going anywhere.

This too shall pass . . . we hope.

Sounds just like me TTOM!!! Everything you mentioned sounds really yummy! Especially that Short Stop place. :p

Ugh...Passover....I LOVE matzoh, especially egg matzoh. Love to pile the "charoses" on it (strange mixture of apples, nuts, and Manischevitz sweet red wine). I totally pigged out at the seder last night. Then came home and had chocolate chip matzoh cookies (homemade by my sister in law, who is a great baker, but nonetheless made with matzoh so probably not worth the calories!) and almonds covered in dark chocolate. :p

Count me in as another Seder "pig" (for lack of a better word) last night as well. Lots 'o carbs for me to burn today!! And, I have to go to another one tonight which will also include the leftovers of the flourless chocolate cake we had last night!! Dense, creamy chocolate...worth all of its substantial calories...:p

Sounds like you are being EVIL today! I can't do that...maybe I have OCD, but if so then that's a good thing. I have a hard time cheating on my cheat day. I haven't had a cheat day this week. When it is my TTOM, I usually will just stick A lifesaver in my mouth or fill up on flavored green tea, etc. There is also spicy beef jerky always around in my house...I know the sodium is high, but so is the protein. Anyhow, it is better than eating a donut, etc.
Maybe I should just join the Green Berets?

Jes ~

I am certain of one thing and that is that Seder has nothing to do with Girl Guides and cookie sales! Seder, I believe, is the main meal served during the Jewish Passover.

I think Girl Guides is the Canadian equivalent of Girl Scouts here in the States.

I trust Annette and Shelley will set things straight if I've erred!

P.S. and if I have erred, I apologize if I've insulted anyone.

Kim - you're right - the Girl Guides appear nowhere in the Haggadah. Seder takes place over two nights that comprise Passover, in which prayers are said and certain foods are eaten in a very symbolic way to celebrate the passing over of the Hebrew houses by God thus sparing the first-born sons of the Hebrews. These prayer and ritualistic eating occur prior to the main meal, which can leave you needing a derrick to get you to your car.

So I did MUCH better today....

Breakfast - egg whites + grits - no butter (hey, I'm in Texas!)
Lunch - smoothie with 1 banana, 1 peach, skim milk
snack - a small amount of movie popcorn and M&Ms ( I SWEAR it was a small amount - I shared with dh)
dinner - baked chicken with sweet potatoes and zucchini with olive oil & 2 glasses of wine...

Not too bad, huh? And I'm usually VERY goood during the week....

I think Shelley was referring to the link she posted redarging info on Passover & Seder. Read her post again.

Marla ~

Thanks for pointing out the link that Shelley so graciously provided to Jes. Yup! I missed that part of Shelley's post. Obviously Jes did not and Jes's post struck my funnybone since I hadn't noticed the link and I thought she thought Girl Guides and cookies were somehow associated with the Seder! (OMG!) My mind's on the spin cycle w/ this whole "house for sale" situation. I need a SPA DAY 'cuz I'm losin' it!

Thanks for putting up with me!!
