it's been a week and i cannot find motivation

I took 5 days off last week. I did a good workout Saturday and Sunday a short bad one!

I said I have to get back this week.

I woke up this morning and after 15 min of working out, I felt that I am not giving my energy and is going nowhere. So, I said may be I will take another 5 days off but I will start walking outside after work.

I am not sure if I need a change of Cathe or video workouts. Tonight, for the 1st time ever I will start walking. I tried yesterday running and couldn't do much.

So I will run this week and do Cathe on weekends.

What's wrong with me. I hope I will be able to walk this evening. I know the last month I did 5 days of intense workout. May be I overworked. I see a difference in my body and I am happy but I don't want to stop.

So I am thinking if I like the walking to do that for a month. Walk on weekdays and do more weight and circuit saturday and sunday.

Does it make sense?

If you've lost your mojo, don't push it, or you'll end up dreading it even more. If you're body isn't wanting to cooperate, listen to it. Walk if thats what you feel like doing. The weather is turning nice again, and it might be just what you need to put that spring back in your step. Keep the month you planned, and if you feel like getting back into the hardcore stuff before that, do it. I find I miss the hard stuff if I take some easy time, but too tough and pushing it all the time can wear a girl out, too. Listen to your body. If you need the break, take it. Cathe and the DVD player will be there when you're ready to get back to it. And it'll be more fun, and you'll look forward to it again.

I've been a little unmotivated in the workout department this week - could be the time change for me. The past few days I decided to focus my energy into house projects instead of my workouts, like boxing up and giving away my girls' baby clothes/toys (they are now 7 and 3 ) and gardening/yardwork. This morning I woke up ready for my workout again. It could have been that those projects that needed to get done were mentally draining me, now that they are done I'm ready to workout again - who knows

the walking is an excellent choice

And don't hold it against yourself if instead of high intensity Cathe workouts (no offense, but we all know she is high in octane) I love walking. You can get a good cardio workout and if you just do it for 30 minutes three times a week at a moderate pace thats ok. You might give weights a rest and just do some beginner's yoga or pilattes. And, if that seems too much do nothing at all. Have you tried meditation? It may not be the workouts, there might be something else in your life which is gnawing at you.

Workout hum drums

I agree. Take a break! I've had days where 5 minutes into a workout, it wasn't there, I had no oomph. So, I quit. Another thing is the variety of DVD's I have. I can do just strentgth training or just cardio or mix it up. Sometimes that works. Sometimes I do the easiest (is there such an animal?) workout for me. Right now, I'm finishing up P90X and I really miss Cathe but I love this program as well and will return to it in the future.

It may not be the workouts, there might be something else in your life which is gnawing at you.

You are right! there is definetly stress in my life right now and it's like I don't want to give my energy away... I am not able to give it to my workouts.

I have a friend who walks on regular basis, I will get with her few times a week and walk. May be when I feel up to it, I can start jogging. But I will start with walking and take it as it goes.
