iTrain reviews please

Hi Well with all this talk about iTrain I took the plunge this week and download 2 iTread and really like it but IMO I thought the pace was fast but kept it at my own and still had a lot of fun. Im wondering if anyone has iClimb and if is doable with a treadmill? I do have a membership at the gym if I ever wanted to use the step machine. I was thinking of signing up for their monthly motivator or maybe the year plan not sure yet. Does anybody have a plan with them and if you like it? TIA:)

I'm glad you enjoyed the Itreads Barbara!

The Iclimb is meant for a stair climber or an elliptical...The work out is based on resistance so there is really no way to do it on a treadmill IMO.

I recently gave ICycle a try and thought it was super fun as well!:)

ENJOY!}(

As Wendy, and a few others of you know, I am an iTrain addict....and iClimb is my favorite....love, love them all. I never actually wanted to go the gym and do cardio and now I can't wait to do it!! Time flies by, and Keith makes me smile....can't beat that. I have been thinking of expanding to iTread, just can't run on the treadmill due to bad knees(that's why I love the elliptical machine!). I now wish I had gotten a plan, cause I have spent more getting the individual workouts....

Barbara, glad to hear that you like the itrain workouts. The general consensus is that Grace's speeds are way too fast for most people. Actually her jogging speeds are my running speeds. There is no way I would ever be able to run at her running speeds. Anyway, I haven't tried it but I have heard that iclimb workouts do adapt well to the treadmill. I have heard that people will use the intensity level directly as an incline. So, if the coach has you at a 6 intensity level they have their treadmills at a 6% incline. Then you just adjust your speed according to the music and how you are feeling.

HTH,

bumping up because I just purchase the monthly motivator. Now I want to download a 20 minute iClimb. That is all I can do because after 20 minutes my feet starts feeling numb. What iClimb are good. I guess I can download a 40 minute and just do the first half 1 day and do the other half another day if it is doable. I also want to download some iTread also. I have iTread set2 20 minutes and iTread set3 40 minutes already and I really love them both. TIA:)

Hi Barbara! I actually have only downloaded the 40 min iclimb programs and just wanted to let you know that it is only one mp3 file, so I am not sure that you can do half one day and half the next. Although I am not tech saavy so I there might be a way to do it. Here is a link where alot of people talk about itrain.

I honestly think that you really can't go wrong with these workouts. I have itread set 2 and 5 40 min and they are both great fun and I like the music. Good luck.

Karin

Thanks Karin, I've been over at that forum for iTread reviews which were alot but not much on the iClimb.

I did end up downloading the iClimb #3 40 minutes and really had a lot of fun doing it. I posted this in the cheetah and notice that I alway had the resistant under 10 not knowing it goes up to 20 so when I did the workout over the 10 my feet didn't go numb i guess because it was harder. I going to download what you suggested and 2 more iTread since i have 4 more downloads for the month.

Barbara! You picked the best iclimb 40 min (IMO). I love that one! It is the best. The music is so fun in it. Have fun with this. I don't know if you are interested at all in ballet or anything. I have no background in this whatsoever, but I did download iballet 1. It comes with a pdf file to show you the moves. What a butt/leg burner! Also, you get some core work too. It is a fun change of pace. I have the monthly motivator, but used up all my credits!! I can't wait until they put up new workouts.

Karin

Karin thanks for the reviews:). Maybe I will give the ballet a try. How long have you been doing the monthly motivator? I know you have to do it for 3 months before if want to you cancled.

I have had the monthly motivator for 2 months now. I am making myself cancel after next month for awhile. I mean how many of these things do I need, right :) ? Another one that you might find interesting is iTritraining. It is under itread 8. There is 15 min itread, 15 min iclimb, 20 min icycle, and 20 min itread. These are individual mp3 files so you could do them separately. Also, if you don't like cycling I have heard the icycle adapts well to the elliptical. Sorry I forgot to mention this one before. It's been a long week.

Karin

Thank you so much. Your right how much can you have. By the time the 3 months is up we should have 15+ well at least for me cuz I already downloaded 2 before signing up. I might also just do it for 3 months and start up again after getting bored, LOL or even doing just the year plan. I didn't see the Itritraining, that sounds like a good one. Now over to itrain to preview again. Thanks again for being so helpful with my decision.

Edited to say wow I can't believe how much I've posted in the past week.

Barbara,
did you say you were able to download them and burn them to a disc? I was just wondering about that last week, so I hope so!! I lost my MP3 player about 5 months ago :( (but I'm hoping I've dropped enough hints to my SO for a new one for my birthday on Monday ;-)!!)

Brandi

Yes Brandi, I burn it to a cd and it played fine in my bookshelf sterio. That is why i burn it just in case I ever do loose my mp3 or it breaks.

I LOVE iTRAIN!!!

I have downloaded the iCycles and what a workout, but even more important the music alone keeps you pumped through the workout from beginning to end. My DH has a few of the iClimb and workout with it on a treadmill or stairmaster, so I think it is totally doable!!

Ok Karin I took your advice and downloaded so far the iTritraining, and you are right I love this one just because the fact that they are individual and you can mix and match. Well I did the 2 itread and I lost my breath @ the end. Now I am wondering are Grace and Keith really working out. I think not, they just don't sound breathless, LOL.

Barbara, I am so glad that you liked my recommendations. I get nervous giving them sometimes, so I am glad it worked out. Did you like the itread 2? I loved the mix of hills and speed. Fun stuff. Actually it is funny that you asked if Grace and Keith are really working out. I was thinking the same thing tonight when Keith had me on a level 10 climb and was saying "We can do this, I'm right there with you". He wasn't out of breath at all and I seriously wanted to hurt him. Let me know if you have any favorites or anything. I always love recommendations. I have all the iclimb 40 mins and am looking for some more itread 40 mins.
