It is snowing

Colorado got its first snow, about 2 weeks ago.. But its been nice so far the past few days, and were lookin at 70's for the weekend.

I went to my sister's house on Sunday. She lives about 40 minutes from me up in the hills, and she had 4 inches of snow on the ground. It I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it!

It is going to be a very long winter!

It's frosty, but nothing more than a couple of flurries Saturday afternoon in Minnesota...50's for highs today...I can't wait for snow this year!!

Chatting with Mom this weekend, it was colder down there this weekend than up here...She's in Charlotte, NC!!!

Oh my goodness, Anne! It's snowing in PA? I had no idea. It's just kind of rainy and nasty here in nyc. Temp is about 50 degrees at 9 a.m. Where is Acme? East or West?

Wet snow here where I live. Strange because if you go east one way and then west the other, there is no snow, just rain, but for some reason the wind blows inbetween the mountains near our house and we get different weather.

Charlotte~~

Here in southwest Ohio it's a cold, dismal, dreary, rainy day with wind gusting at 18 mph. Please let there be sun--I don't even care if it's cold as long as the sun is shining.

"I am in Eastern Pa. 50 miles east of Pittsburgh."

Anne, did you mean Western instead of Eastern? I ask because I am geographically challenged, not because I am trying to obsessively correct other people's typos.

-Nancy

Oh my! Snow already! I'm definitely not ready for that.

Michele ~ I agree with you. I'm OK as long as the sun is out. Our weather here in the Chicagoland area is similar to yours minus the wind today.

RE: Kathryn, 6000+!!!!

It's pouring and windy here in RI!! I love it though. This is my time of year. I've got the woodstove going and my music on, and a pot of red pepper soup simmering on the stove.

It's positvely Laura Ingalls....:p

No snow yet for me! But it is coming because we always get it right before Halloween. Then it goes away but stays cold until mid December. Right before Christmas we start getting pounded. I don't mind it then.

Last night was really wierd though. We had some of the freakiest lightening I have ever seen in my life!! It was practically non stop, and lasted for HOURS! We often get late afternoon thunder that will break up as the sun goes down, especially in the Fall. But yesterday it started about 3 o'clock and went well into the dark time, nearly 9 o'clock. I shut everything down. Computer, tv, playstation etc. Of course I unplugged my precious treadmill too;-)

It was constant as I said and a lot of it was in the clouds. Sort of looked like the paparazzi taking a ton of pictures with all the flashes. Then every minute or so there would be huge lightening bolts that looked like downstrikes.

Sometimes I never know if I should be scared or not. This was one of those times. My kids and I bundled up and went out on the deck. We spent at least a half hour watching it in awe. Then we were wet and cold so we came in and just watched out our front window. It was really amazing and sort of scary at the same time.

Anyone else have those kind of storms?

Snowing in Western Maryland. Trees are down, no electric at home, one way traffic on snowy, debris covered roads this morning, schools are closed, government offices are closed. Electric went out about 9:00 last night. Can't workout on treadmill or dvd's. I used the rebounder some and will use the Bowflex tonight if the power doesn't come back on. I am such a brat when I miss my workouts.
