Is there any reason......

Not to do a kickboxing DVD such as KM or KPC and then do an upper body workout such as MM (upper body premix) or PUB in the same day?
I am trying to work up a rotation using the dvd's I have and didn't know if that was a good idea or not.

I think most people would say that you should give your arms a little rest in between lol! However, I've been doing the Gym Style split in the AM with parts of KPC in the PM, and I'm liking it so far.
 
I have done kickboxing with U/B work on the same day and not had a problem. I've also done them on back to back days w/no problems. IMO it's not like lifting 2 days in a row so I personally feel it's fine to do if you want...JMO!:)
 
It depends.
Do you use weighted gloves when doing kickboxing?
That can add to stress on the shoulders, which, when added to the stress of an upper body workout, could be 'too much.' But it's very individual.

I have a problematic shoulder that I have to 'listen' to, because it will tell me when I'm overdoing. If you have no such problems (or any other body part telling you to back off), then I see no reason not to!

Thanks for confirming it is ok for me to "torture" myself as planned with KPC today and a full body weight workout tomorrow. However, I may not be able to type on the forum on Sunday. OMG, may need to reconsider this.:eek:
 
I do this fairly regularly. I like to pre-fatigue the upperbody without weights before giving it a good go with a weighted workout, especially through the lats. Not only am I an unabashed endorphin_junkie but you can add DOMS_junkie to my list of quirks and eccentricities. My only suggestion is be prepared to use lighter weights than you are used to if your form is suffering in any way. I love working and pushing it hard but; safety first Kids:7

I would do it too, but then again, I've actually done 3 Cathe workouts, in their entirity, all in the same day combining cardio with weight training. I love torture too.
