Is it possible

Aimee

Cathlete
to lose endurance and strength in as little as one week? I was only gone one week!! Ok, I know I didn't do nearly as much as as I do when I'm at home. BUT, when I did BodyMax yesterday I felt like I was going to die!! I had to lower my step during the circut part and drop weight for both the circut and upper body!! Man, talk about being disappointed! I thought a vacation may help renew me so to speak, but instead it took me back 2 paces! I figured some endurance would be gone, but I didn't count on the strength part. Is this normal? Or was I just not at my peak yesterday? At any point, I'm quite sore today!!

Mid-summer blues!!

OMG!! I was just going to post something about asking whether anyone is going through the mid-summer "My workout is hell" phenomenon. It's bad enough to GET me to work out in the first place these days, let alone what I look & feel like during my workout.
I remember Cathe posting something about how the change of seasons can wreak havoc on your motivation, but I don't recall it being right in the middle of any season. Of course, the 10 straight days of RAIN we've had in Rhode Island could have something to do with it!!
Cathe's RX for the loss of motivation was 2 weeks off. Which I took-- and came back to bad bad bad workouts. I'm gasping for air and turning red after the first segments! It's awful-- it's got me wishing for those new tapes, my motivation level could use it these days...
So even though my post basically has nothing to do with your original question, I sympathize with your plight after a week off.

I feel the same way!!

Before I went on vacation I had to fight with myself to workout, but I kept saying to myself beach, beach, beach and I'd make it through. Yesterday I kept putting it off and putting it off until finally I made myself and well, you know the rest from my original post!! It's making me wonder what today's workout will bring, if it comes at all!!

Isn't it frustrating???

Isn't it just amazing how long it takes for us to get fit, but sure doesn't take long to lose it?
Boy, is that frustrating!!!!!! I have the same difficulty after just one week off. I betcha your new Cathe tapes will be here soon and that will provide you with new motivation. My new motivation (this may sound weird) but I am trying to get in shape to look good for the holidays starting in just 4 months. EEEKK!!!! I don't even want to think about the holidays yet, but I refuse to show up at the one party I attend each year and once again be the chubby one with the frumpy clothes. I will not, will not, will not!!
Oh well, forgive me for blabbing but I'm just trying to find some motivation myself.

You'll be back in the swing of things by the end of the week Aimee!!!

Thanks for the encouragement,

maybe that's what I should do. Find a new goal. I didn't even realize the holidays were just 4 months away! Where did this year go? I am sooo looking forward to these new tapes. I've only dabbled with kickboxing before so this should be a new challange for me!! Maybe I'll set a goal for my B-Day, it's at the end of Sept. Hopefully the new tapes will be here before then. My goal will be to lose 1in off of each my abs, thighs, upperarms and hips by my B-Day. Is that an attainable goal? If you have any suggestions to help me, let me know. Thanks!! BTW, I'll bet you'll look terrific for the holidays!! Good luck!!
