Hello everybody!!!
I just wanted to introduce myself... I'm pretty new to this site but have been doing Cathe's workouts for a while now. In fact, I had a very hard time trying to get pregnant (a 3 year process) and excercising was the one thing that helped me keep sane.
Anyway, I'm thrilled of my pregnancy but since it will be my first baby I have like a million questions. I've already been "surfing" through this forum for about an entire week and still feel like I need more info. Please feel free to send me our comments and ideas about anything....
As for Cathe and Sheila, thank you sooo much. Either by exercising or by reading this forum I really feel like you are close friends now. I want to really thank you for what you do and really offer my feedback on whatever you might want or need. You know, it feels really weird to be recieving so much inspiration and advice from people I actually don't know. Thanks and keep it up.
I'll keep you posted on the pregnancy (I'm 11 weeks today!)

Congrats Luli on the Pregnancy!! This is my first baby also and this forum has been great motivation and help with it. Good luck with everything!

Hi melissa!
How long are you in the pregnancy? are you doing Cathe's videos? How have you been feeling?
I'm about to have my next ob-gyn visit this next week and I'm assuming I'll get some answers about what modifications I need to make to my routine. However, I'm a litle concerned that I don't really have much side-effects or symthoms and besides being tired all the time I desperately need some confirmation that everything is OK.....
Thanks for answering and keep in touch

I am 35 weeks on tuesday. I still do cathe videos ofcourse definatly modifying areas. I put my step down to 6" and do more lower impact. A lot of the abdominal workouts are not possible when you get to this point, but i did a lot of them up to now. I never got dizzy or light headed when laying on my back so it was never really a problem. We do a lot of hiking and i try to incorperate yoga and stretching which i think makes a difference in how i feel. That is great that you dont have a lot of side effects. It was definatly hard to stay motivated during my first trimester because of the constant fatigue. I never have had a problem with anxiety until i got pregnant. You need to remember that everything will be fine. You cant go throught the next few months thinking that things are not going the way they should ...you will drive yourself CRAZY. Just hope for the best and i am sure everything will be fine.

GOOD LUCK
Melissa

Hi Luli,
I'm 5 weeks, and am like you. Not sick, boobs are not really hurting, etc...
I'm just tired more often and feel crampy down below.
From all of the research (and several friends that are nurses) have told me, EVERYTHING is normal. As long as you're not bleeding heavily or severely cramping, you're just fine. So enjoy the ride (and the fact that you're apparently having a smooth pregnancy so far! :) )

Luli-with my first pregnancy, I felt great just a little tired. My chest did begin to hurt though later in the first trimester. Like you, I worried but relaxed when I had an 8 week ultrasound showing a healthy embryo. I worked out til the end and didn't modify at all my first trimester. I modified impact later in my pregnancy.

Hey, I don't want to rain on your parade because statistics are with you having a healthy baby, but this is not true. Your baby can stop growing inside you, die, and you don't even know it. You can even still feel pregnant after the baby has died. It is called a 'missed miscarriage' and you don't find anything out until no heartbeat is detected...no bleeding, no cramps, NOTHING. Some do have loss of pregnancy symptoms but some do not. I was one of the unfortunate ones that did not. I guess the nurses feel that EVENTUALLY you will cramp and bleed heavily to expel the tissue but 5 weeks after fetal demise that had not happened to me and I had to have a D&C.

I am not saying this to scare you at all, I just felt a profound sense of anger when I miscarried because it didn't happen like it does in the movies. And nobody told me it COULD happen like that!! I just never knew you could miscarry and never be the wiser. I was floored.

I think everyone is very nervous until they see that heartbeat for the first time. Once you see that, the chance of a miscarriage drops to 10%. Plus, so early in pregnancy I think it is normal not to have many symptoms.

I will be praying that you all have a HAPPY and HEALTHY 9 months!:D

Luli...

CONGRATULATIONS! Keep us posted on how you are doing, definitly. At 11 weeks you are getting close to your 2nd trimester already!! Woo-hoo! You must be so excited after such a long, hard struggle. Tell hubby CONGRATS too!:D

Haven't you had an ultrasound yet to ease your anxiety?? Seems like you would have by 11 weeks. Or did you get to hear the heartbeat yet?

Congratulations Luli!

I know how you feel. I have been ttc for a long time also and once I saw that second line I was (still am) so worried about everything. I asked my doctor to give me an ultrasound around 9weeks to check if everything is ok because besides being tired I did not feel (still don't) anything. No morning sickness, no nausea, no increase in appetite, nada. Thank God everything is going ok so far so please try not to worry too much because that won't do you any good.

Melimcn, morning sickness, if you do get it, usually starts around 6-8weeks.
Wishing you both a healthy, happy pregancy. :)

Ladies!!!
I'm so excited!!! I finally went to my ob-gyn and things are looking good.... the baby is there, the heart beat is fine and the doctor was amazing...
I mentioned all my fear and trepidation about having very little side effects and she assured me I had nothing to woory about.
The most interresting advise was in regards to exercise. She gave me green light for all my previous rutines and mentined that the 140 HR mark was no longer adequate. Actually, she sad, the best thing is to listen to our bodies.
Anyway, thanks sooooo much for all your responses. I hope we can all keep in touch during this incredible time. I am sure going to return with all my fears and joy
Best
LULI
