Hi, I'm new here. I've been on an emotional rollercoaster for a year or so(separation) and it has affected my workouts and desire to be fit. I go through periods of wanting and sticking to an exercise plan, and then something emotional happens and I go off everything for about 2 or 3 weeks. I am back at the point where I want to exercise and diet again, but this time I wanted to use this site as a sort of support group, for when those emotional times invade my routine. I've been doing the STS program(off and on) and am determined to start over and complete the cycle. Part of my frustration was while doing the program and following a diet from my nutritionist, I went about 2 weeks of being faithful to both and didn't lose a pound. I even stepped up my cardio during my off days...so that got me off track.

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Razor

Welcome Razor,

I didn't lose lbs during STS but I lost 2" off waist and 2" off hips. I usually can eat less and lose weight when I'm not lifting and just doing mostly cardio. I know everyone is different. It has helped me by joining a social group. We post regularly and encourage each other and give advice about what works for us( or doesn't). I'm in the 50 and over check in. There are groups for runners, low carb dieters etc. Find one you like and join in. You are welcome to join in with us even if you aren't old like me.:D
No one in our group is doing sts right now. For the holidays we're mainly doing shorter wo.

I think that most people had the most weight loss in meso 2 and 3- just not me. Of course I didn't reduce calories either.

Hi Razor!

Welcome! You've come to the right place for support and motivation!

I'm doing STS right now for the first time. I'm also part of the New Runners group in the Check ins Page.

Hang in there! Don't let not losing weight bum you out! The weight training will slim you down and before you know it, your metabolism will get better and the weight will start to come off!

I lost my weight doing just cardio. However, ever since I started STS, I've been able to get just below my goal of 125.

Don't give up! When you think you're stuck, just keep working and think about the improvements to your health and endurance! The rest will follow!

hi

Here is my plan....let me know if anyone has any comments or suggestions.

I plan on doing STS 3 times per week and for cardio, I am starting a running routine. I decided on running because I am not graceful on that step. Yikes! I will run 3 times per week, but at first, it won't be for any long distances. Abs will also be done on my running days.

As for my diet...I have met with a nutritionist and he's put me on a high protein diet. About 2200 cal. per day.

What's been frustrating is I had lost 30lbs by being on this diet before. I stuck to it faithfully and walked on the treadmill for about 45-60min every other day. On the other days I did some nautilus work. I kept the weight off for about 3 years, but I would be very sporadic about my diet and exercise during this timeframe. Then I would start up with the diet and exercise and not lose a pound after a couple of weeks. And I would be working out harder than I did before. Hence my frustration.

But now I just want to be healthy and while I want success, I also want to not worry so much about it.

Thanks,
Razor
