Insole recommendations, anyone?

Just wondering if anyone uses insoles in their athletic shoes and, if so, whether you think they help. My knees get stiff and a bit sore from working out sometimes. Perhaps insoles would help. Any recommendations?

Have a great night!

Thanks for the recommendations. Janie--I'm always looking for more cushioning in a shoe, and I'll keep up the hunt. Right now I'm using Ryka's N-Gage Studio Mid and XT. I think it's more of an age thing with my knees. I'll be 40 next month, which is not old by any means, but I think years of running and wear and tear have resulted in the dreaded . . . SORE KNEES.

Thanks again for your input. Have a great night!

I don't know what mine are called but I got them last week when I was fitted for new running shoes at the New Balance store. I went in with a list of shoe recommendations from New Balance online customer service and the guy told me none of their recommendations were right for me. They were all good shoes but none addressed my specific issues (my feet are almost completely flat, I dramatically overpronate, and I have plantar faciitis {pf SUCKS}). I'd been in pain for months and left the NB store feeling like a new woman in my fabulously comfortable (gait correcting) shoes and insoles. New Balance sales people are the smokin' bomb because they really know their stuff.

I too suffer from plantar faciitis, I haven't worked out in months because of it, I started excercising again yesterday the pain came back but I was able to control it with a tennis ball under my foot but I am looking for insoles. Would you mind telling me what shoes did you buy and which insoles do you wear?
Thanks
