Ok, did it work?
I hate to do this on Cathe's site, but I figure if I ask you guys, I'll like your responses best since I know you all love Cathe's stuff! So...
I'd like to get some variety into my exercise routine--instructor variety, that is. Please don't take offense, I love the results I'm getting from Cathe, and I love her style and all that, but I just want to add to my cross-training by using different instructors, too. The main problem is that all of my other videos are really just intermediate level stuff, and I'd like some more advanced workouts to add to what I have of Cathe's.
I'm mainly looking for non-step, cardio videos. Kickboxing, hi-low, floor aerobics are all what I have in mind, and I do like pretty complex choreography. I have to work out on carpet, so I guess that needs to be factored in.
What are some other videos you all love, and why?
Thanks, everyone!! :)
Wendy

One word..

Christi...Christi Taylor that is. If you love complex choreography that is dancy...you'll like Christi.

Wendy (I love your log in name..you make me think of my good friend who is a Wendy and I always call her Wendywoooo;-))..if you want to search for videos...find reviews and get advice from folks, check out videofitness http://www.videofitness.com, I apologize if you have been there already, I know there are a couple of Wendys that post:) but if you haven't...check it out.

One other thing..if you have always done Cathe and are a big fan of her style...it's great to have variety..but it's tough to find anyone up in her catagory IMHO.
Oh..one other quick one that I like that is close to Cathe in fun factor is Mindy Mylrea.

RE: Checkout the CIA

link on Cathe's home page. I hear that CIA is supposed to be pretty advanced AND they're having a sale right now thru Oct.15th. You can get some videos for a low as $7.00. I had to try some so I ordered HI/Lo, Step and Sclupt and A boot Camp video. I think those two were like $8.00 and $9.00 dollars. Anyway, the prices are good! Let us know what you decide to go with!

I think the sale is over

I'm pretty sure CIA had to end their sale early because it got such a great response.

I agree...You can't go wrong with Christi

If you want interesting hi-lo choreography, she's your girl. Hi-lo Heaven and Happy Hour are both great. Actually, they are better than great. IMHO, they are the best examples of what hi-lo is supposed to be (FUN!). And, you can do them higher or lower depending on your fitness level and your mood that day.

If you want something that leans more towards higher impact, Franny Benedetto is good. Her CIAs are 9704, 9905, and 2K05.

And, if you want kickboxing, Janis Saffel has more choreographed kickboxing...CIA 9907 is great. Or there, is always Tae-Bo...not choreographed, but never boring.

And if you like Circuit type workout...CIA's RAW workout with Helen V. is solid. (I can't be more enthusiastic, because I'm really not a circuit nut...but I do recognize that this is a good one.)

Oh, and unfortunately, the CIA sale did end early. But, they are still great tapes.

instructors

Thanks to all of you for your ideas! I know I'm not going to find anyone I like as much as Cathe (see, I'm loyal!), but I'm excited about finding other stuff to mix it up a bit.
It was only 103 degrees today--I see an outdoor activity in my future. Maybe the end of this month?!! I can't remember working out outside, and I miss it!
Wendy :)

I love LOTS of videos

Cathe rules in the class of intense workouts: great strength training, great step and great kickboxing. In my opinion, there are a few other instructors as talented as Cathe -- although nobody delivers the killer intensity of Cathe's tapes, some come pretty darned close, including Christi Taylor, Franny Benedetto, Mindy Myrlea and Greg Twombly. I don't like to talk too much about other instructors on Cathe's web site, but I'd recommend that you visit www.videofitness.com and check the reviews for these instructors.

ideas for alternates

Mindy, yes. The basic original Firm videos. Some power step and interval videos by Gin Miller (Reebok). Some CIA as has been mentioned. most of the others are good, good intermediate rest day stuff.
