infant carriers

hi everyone

i was hoping for a bit of advice about infant carriers. i used a baby biourn with ds and loved it!!! we used it inside and out, 24/7. my only problem with it was i couldn't use it until finn was 8lbs. he was born at term at 5.4lbs. now pregnant with ds 2, i imagine i will have a similarly sized baby. did anyone use a sling they'd recommend that you could use for smaller babies?

I have a couple Hotslings. I've only been able to try them out with a teddy bear and a dumbbell to test the weight since the baby isn't here yet but they're really comfortable and cute. Also, they work at all ages and weights (up to 35 pounds, I think). Here's the website: http://www.hotslings.com/. You can often find some of the discontinued colors and fabrics on eBay brand new for less.

I tried all sorts of stuff with my youngest one,...he was bit under 6-lbs when he was born,...and with 2 other kids at home,...well I had to be mobile!

I could not get the art of the sling, so I waited a couple of months before useing my Infantino (like baby bjorn).Then when he outgrew that (and I kept them in it a LONG time), we went to a hip sling (playtex makes one)...I could STILL put Jadon in it if I wanted too,...then I moved onto a backpack. I even taught a 3-4 year old class when I was pg with #3 with #2 on my back! Ha Ha. Those were the days...

I love hotslings too. They also sell them at www.target.com and have them in some of the bigger Target stores! They're wonderful!!

Hey Nina, my e-mail came back. I think hotmail has been up/down for a couple of days.

I used a Mya wrap? It was a large cloth that you'd fold over into knots. It came with a video. Be forewarned, if a sling comes with a video, it's probably too complicated to figure out. I had not patience in my slomberness of taking care of a newborn. I sent it back for a refund. You're a smart girl, you'd be able to figure it out.
