Happy 4th of July!



It's a very pretty day in Tokyo today...even though a massive rain storm woke me up temporarily this morning. I've got the windows open ajar and the little birdies are a-singing.

No action on the balcony as of late, or at least none that I've noticed. Unless you count the fact that some kind of plant has sprung up from some old seed that went into the balcony drain LOL. http://bestsmileys.com/flowers/2.gif

I did my 10 minutes of cardio and followed it with two sections of Tamilee arms, did my smoothie and then spent well over an hour preparing an order for a load of cat food from the States woo hoo! I ordered all sorts of wet foods. Keep your fingers crossed that the monsters will like something from the lot. And I was surprised that it really wasn't much more than ordering from a Japanese company (of course, I order imported stuff from the Japanese companies).


JENNIFER - So are you prepared for kayaking? Did you say you've been before?

Six inches of rain in an hour?! COOL! That must have been something to see! Did Seville and Madrid sit at the window and watch the whole thing?

I took a look at and copy pasted the info from the link on the made-up STS that you posted. When will you be starting it? I'm just getting myself to a point where I'm getting back into working out daily and forcing myself ( http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/7.gif ) to do 40 minutes...but I would consider doing it from next month! Maybe by then I'll have some outdoor running shoes (course by then it will be scorchingly humid in Tokyo....).



Sheesh, it's almost 4pm and I've not started work yet. I'm off to do that NOW. NOW!!

Great post, August, as usual.


The boys were more spooked than from previous storms, there was so much rain just pounding down.

My dream career would be doing something more meaningful than what I'm doing now. To work in the medical industry, to help save a life directly or indirectly.

Tomorrow will be my first time kayaking ever.

My guys found a cockroach tonight. I let them play with him for a couple minutes before guilt brought me to his rescue, and I let him free outside. :)

I can understand how that would be your dream work, considering all your experience.

Could that be something you look for? Are there such work positions working with children or at a hospital?

Oooh, tomorrow is your first kayaking! It will be an adventure for sure, and a great workout! Don't forget to bring lots of water. Oh no wait, you'll drink lots of water no matter what happens. :D :p

I'm scurrying around, trying to get everything done for the birthday/4th of July celebration. I'm heading over to the grocery store to pick up the cake in a few minutes. I have to call my FIL to see if they need anything because they will, and I need to shake 'em up over there now or they'll wait until 2:00 to present me with a HUGE shopping list, and that will make me cry -- lol! (does that sentence even make sense?)

AUGIE - WOO HOO!! We start next month...and you better get some proper shoes, young lady, or I'm coming over there! :p

Yes, I did reach the caterer, thank you for asking! So tomorrow I'm going to the stationary place to pick out invitations. If I order them tomorrow I'll still have time to get them printed before they have to be mailed. :D

Oh yeah, I thought the Kathy Smith DVD was awful, and I could NOT STOP LAUGHING at Keli Roberts!! I mean WTH -- she looked like some kind of -- geez, I don't know, but she looked like some sort of a crazed maniac -- lol!

JENNIFER -- I'll bet you help save lives indirectly everyday and you don't even know it! ;-)

Oh boy, be careful kayaking! I could never do that -- I'd be too askeered! ;-)

(SIDE NOTE - I'm in bed in the dark with my computer on a pillow on the bed and Cham just jumped up onto the bed. She's looking straight up at the ceiling meowing. If I touch her, she meows and crooks her neck in a different position to look straight up, the weirdo! What on earth is she looking at? She's all freaking me out!!)

As I was saying, good luck with your preparations for the festivities! It sounds like all the events you are getting ready are coming nicely into place. Yay!

As for next month and the notSTS rotation, YOU'RE ON!

I'll definitely get running shoes by then and we shall do this rotation togethers. Anyone else care to join in?

I don't have the 4DS....do you know of a sub? Was it S&H? I thought I read that somewhere but I don't have it in my notes.

And does it mention how much cardio on the cardio days? :D

Okay, everything's under control. I turned on the light finally and behold, a teeny weeny beetle. How on earth could they both see that?!

Now they're going nuts watching it. It's so cute, too, because they're both just tapping it and watching it walk around. :) They must have gotten that from me. :D
 
Hello Haters.

Just woke up from my nap, I got up way too early this am so I went back to bed for one with Seville and Madrid.

A cockroach in my home would bother me. Thanks to my old neighbours in my old apt complex, I did get them. It was hard to fumigate the place with Adrian (my old cat).

We're kayaking on a beginner area so basically, we will be floating down the river. I might have to use my oars once or twice.

Next weekend, I'm supposed to be in Detroit near where I lived for most of my childhood and to see one of my best friends. We've been friends since we've been 5 years old. Plus, some former classmates.

My next career won't be with children. If it's in the hospital setting, it will be more on the administrative detail. GOD is in control of this and with everything else so I will do the best job I'm at now.

Time for my walk.
 
Evening haters! I've done nothing today remotely festive. My DH went over to the racetrack - I had no desire to go. I was in my pj's til noon and just sat around all day. I haven't been feeling that good lately. For the past 2 weeks I have had a terrible feeling in my chest. It isn't like pain - it is hard to decribe, kinda like pressure but at the same time like a pulled muscle but I haven't done anything to pull a muscle. My neck feels so tense - it is just weird. I hate going to the doctors so I'll wait it out so see if this passes on its own. I tried to diagnos myself on the internet but haven't found anything. I've been taking ibuprofen and that seems to dull things.

Anyway, I started a book today and I"ve already finished it. It was called "20 Wishes" and it was such a great book. I always read horror or mystery and this was just a good, wholesome, great story.

Michele - that was great gift for your nephew. Did he like it? How was the rest of your day?

Jennifer - enjoy your trip tomorrow and be safe!!!

August - if I saw a cockroach, there is no way in he!! I'd pick it up and rescue it. It would be DEAD!!! I love animals but I draw the line with bugs, especially cockroaches. So Michele has talked you into the getting ready for STS rotation? Cool. No you better get yourself a pair of shoes!!!

There aren't any fireworks going on here tonight. Everything is tomorrow night. We're going over to the races b/c the owner puts on a pretty nice display.
