Increase muscle using new pyrmaid tape?

Hi Cathe and crowd, I have a question about the new pyramid tapes...

The original description said that these tapes were for increasing lean muscle, and the reps range is 8-12, which seems to be the correct range for increasing muscle mass. However, the rests between sets are only a few seconds long. So, does this mean that we will have to use lighter weights than if we rested for a minute? If so, how does this increase muscle mass and not just endurance?

I've ordered the tapes, but just want to make sure I understand what the goals should be when using these ones.

Thanks in advance!
Sharon.

Hi Sharon! If we're only going to have a few seconds of rest in between sets we're not going to be able to lift heavy for all of these sets. With pyramid you gradually increase the weight so by the time you reach the last set using your heaviest weight its going to tear the muscle fibers quite nicely and you'll be greatly fatigued. That's what you want. I have to view the tape first to see how I'm going to lift. I lift very differently but I may decide to use a moderate to heavy weight. We'll just have to wait and see. Kathy
