Imax2 and abs question

Hi Ladies!

I've noticed that some of you are still doing IMAX2 during your pregnancies. I did it today for the first time in a while and I was wondering how you all have modified the blast segments the farther you get into your pregnancies. It's one of my favorite Cathe workouts and I'd like to keep doing it.
Out of curiousity, how far along were you when you started to do abs on an incline and/or the stability ball? I'm 14 weeks along, and I'm not sure how much longer I should be doing them on the floor.

Thanks!
Melissa

Melissa,

I have been doing Imax 1 & 2 with serious modifications. I can't remember the exact blast moves, but I just don't do alot of the turns(up & back and ricochet moves) and no plyos. Instead, I normally substitute knee repeaters and side squats. I am 15 1/2 wks and haven't had any problems. I don't do alot of jumping but just enough to get a mild challenge.

Although my midwife told me I could lie flat on my back until 20 wks, I decided to go ahead and use an incline at about 13 wks. I am showing a little faster than I did with my first and just wanted to feel safe. There have been previous threads where some women did their abs flat on their backs throughout the whole pregnancy.

Hi guys, I'm in my eight month now and still doing IMAX II and I jump if I feel like I can do it and I modify if it doesn't feel right. I still love plyos, but not so much anything jumping as in the 9th blast. (although I have to admit I like to do a few just for fun). When I get tired, I do the moves without much of a jump, more of a step. My opinion is to do what feels right, which is different for everyone.

I'm a "flat back ab doer" and haven't had any problems with it. If I don't feel something is right then I stop. Your body will definitely let you know!! Again...just my opinion.

Congratulations on your pregnancies.

I'm 31.5 weeks pregnant (almost 8 months,...right Briee?!) and continued doing IMax's with little to no modifications until about 28 weeks. At this time my back began to bother me & I now hop very gently. I, like Briee have continued my normal ab exercises; however, I don't do them with as much vigor or as frequently.

I hope this helps. Congrats on your pregnancy. A May delivery is perfect...I had my 1st son in April & loved it!
