IMAX or IMAX 2: Question for you all!

I've been using Intense Moves while on my treadmill and love it. During the 1-minute "hardest" parts, I either max out the incline or move it up to a REALLY fast walk. It works great and I always push myself. But I really don't want to burn myself out on IM, so was wondering if either of Cathe's tapes would work as well.

I want a workout that has clearly defined "push" periods(preferably with a countdown bar/clock, like IM's) and great, great music. So...do either of these fit the bill? TIA! :D

I have Imax 2, and I love it. I have read reviews on both and it seems that most people like IMAX2 over IMAX1, mainly for the choreography I guess. If you want to check out the reviews on both you can go to Videofitness.com and look it up in the reviews page. For IMAX 2 reviews you may need to go to the new reviews or even go under the search section, because I had a hard time finding the reviews for it. But there are plenty of reviews, I don't know why they are hard to find though, maybe Wendy is having a hard time keeping up right now. (She is the person that runs the web site.)

Hi there!

I just LOVE IMAX. It's a wonderful workout. I do it at least once a week. Can't afford the new tapes so this is just fine. THe step choreography is easy and fun and the intervals are great! Especially # 10. You can't go wrong with either .

Enjoy!

I wish I'd read this sooner. I use Intense Moves with my Airdyne bicycle and it is in many ways the best because of the visual cues and the predictability.

IMax works well, but Imax2 is not so good because the intervals are of very variable lengths. It's great as a step cardio, for which it was designed, but not so great to follow on a bike or treadmill. Imax has a very long warm-up, which is not so great for the bike, but it is easy to follow and consistently timed.

My latest craze is to use Boot Camp. The BC intervals are always a minute long, followed by a minute of lower body, a minute of upper body, a minute of abs, so you can use these however you want to. What I do is a hard fast minute during the cardio, a minute using only my legs at normal aerobic speed during the legs, a minute using mostly my upper body during the upper body and a minute of regular speed during the abs. It's easy to tell from Cathe's behavior what is about to happen.
