Thanks for sharing this! It is so true that until we as individuals regard aging as a natural, wonderful stage of life the world will not. I shouted HOORAY as I read the article.
I was at the dermatologist office and had a melonoma removed on my thigh... my Dr actually apologized for the 1/4" scar that would remain. I laughed at her and said. " I will be proud to wear yet 1 more battle scar of life! I have had a wonderful 43 years scars and all to prove it! I am looking forward to at least 43 more!"

I just caught your e-mail about the melanoma and wanted to say that I'm so impressed with your attitude. I've had 3 basal cells removed in the last year or so. Do you ever get sick of slopping on the sunblock, wearing hats, etc? I am vigilant about it, but it's a pain having to do that every time I go somehwere. I'm in Texas as well and it seems you can't even drive to the store without having the sun beating in or whatnot. Anyway, I wish you good luck and much success with your health.

Thanks for your kind words! I must admit that I have been in Houston for 15 years and prior to that a CA girl in all ways...sunning included. I am not nearly as vigilant about the hat/sunscreen as I know is right but definitely a lot more than ever! I wish you continued success with your health as well. Its all so scary but it also feels good to just take care of it.
