I'm gonna be hungry

So for the new year I am planning a 1400 calorie diet in order to lose 1-2 lbs a week. I did a whole spreadsheet up starting with a days worth of food and have my perfect proportions of fats/protein/carbs which was fairly easy to do and my typical diet fell right in line with that. Except, after reviewing the days worth of food compared to what I'm used to eating I know....I'm gonna be hungry. x(

Anyone have any tricks to get themselves through the initial hunger pangs? Added veggies? Mantras?

I really want to lose these last pounds and I'm trying to prepare myself as best I can.

eat some type of veggie at every meal and drink a lot of water. veggies have minimal cals so add them to your meal to fill your stomach and feel like you are eating more. other than that just keep busy. in between meals sometimes it helps me to tell myself i'll be eating again in a couple hours. this calms my brain in thinking that i'm starving. good luck! one more thing, may i ask how many cals your eating now? also, what is your workout plan going to be like? 1400 cals may be too little to fuel your body and thats why you get so hungry. mabe 1600 would be more satisfiying and you will still lose the weight.

IA that depending upon what your workouts are like, that may be too few calories, in which case I don't see how you could overcome the hunger. I would strive for 1400 on days that you don't work out and up the number a bit on days that you do.

I tend to do well when I start my day off with oatmeal, drink lots of water, incorporate fat-free dairy daily, and up my fruit and veggie intake.

Hot food makes me feel full faster so the oatmeal idea is very good. I also like veggie or bean soups and steamed veggies rather than cold. Good luck!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.
