Hi Everyone,

We made it home and it is so good to be back. We did indeed enjoy our trip this year. It was awesome! I'll try to some it up as best as I can so it won't be so long to read.

First we went to Utah for 6 weeks. We rock hound and found petrified wood and a lot of petrified dinosaur bone as well. Dinosaur bone, can you imagine? We took it down to the BLM to see what it was and sure enough it was Dinosaur bone. To get this bone and other rock hounding specials, we scrambled up cliff trailings and wandered around the buttes in the area all day long. There was maybe two days we didn't go searching. We left mid morning and came back just before dark with our arms so sore carrying stuff for miles. It was hard work, but OH so wonderful.

Then we went to Las Vegas for one week. Our son took us to see "O". O MY GOD! Fabulous! He also took us out for many very special dinners. Glad to say I didn't gain one ounce. We walked all day in that one week for hours.

We met our daughter, grandchild of almost 3 and our son-in-law at Disneyland. We played all week long. Walked ate, and rode the rides to our hearts content. Very lucky again for not gaining any pounds.

Went further North and saw Hearst castle and took many pictures. I've never seen such beauty in my life. We only saw a glimpse of the castle and even less of the grounds, but hey, you do get the impression of how rich this family was/is and how huge the castle is.

A little further North and went through Napa Valley where there was many wineries and grape growing vineyards all over the place. We couldn't taste the wine because there was only the two of us, (we were driving through) but the view and the magnificent houses around the area were so incredible!

Last, we saw the Redwood Forest on the way home. We stayed one night under those incredible trees. Massive and strong trees to say the least. I felt like a small bug in the mist of them. It was so impressive! Our earth is so grand.

Looking forward to getting caught up with Cathe news/forums again.

Can't wait to here from you all!

Welcome back.

Couldn't taste the wine at Napa.... man I would have hired a chauffer for that part of the trip.

Welcome back. Sounds like a wonderful trip. Except the Napa part. I'm with Dave in the limo sipping wine! It's great that you only came home with memories, not extra poundage.

WOW janieyJoey..What an incredible experience! It all sounds so wonderful! Im glad you had a good time!

Glad to see you back! :)

Hi Phyllis,

I didn't see a gold swimming pool, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. However I did see a huge one outside and another one inside. Our tour was for beginners only. It seems that there is another 4 different tours you can go to. Each costing $20.00 ea. We'll see those in future years, hopefully the gold swimming pool.

I'll add my pictures soon; you will be amazed!

Welcome back, Janie!
Sounds like you had a great trip.
I'm impressed with you finding a dinosaur bone. The best 'find' I had was an arrowhead that I found in a river on a friends property (several of us were going for a walk, fording through the shallow water in places, and I was admiring the interesting-looking stones when I spotted it).

Kathryn,

You don't know the half of it. I not only found 1 dinosaur bone, but I found pounds of it. Some with the marrow still intact, most are small pieces. The bigger pieces will be added to my cabinet, the others will be given to family and friends on special occasions and still others will be made into jewelry.

Wished you could have been there. If you like, I could send you a small piece in the mail. Let me know, if so, I need your address again.
