I'm back and need shoe suggestions!

I don't think I've been active on these forums for like two years! After focusing on running (which destroyed my back) and yoga (love it but doesn't provide the intensity or keep me as fit as I'd like) it's back to Cathe! Yay!! After doing Boot Camp and Afterburn realized my shoes aren't providing the lateral support needed. Any shoe recommendations for that?

This is a tough topic, because shoes don't seem as well made as they were 10 years ago. I will say I have had luck with Nike Free shoes aided by some ankle support neoprene wraps I bought from target. My husband also told me that he was told tennis shoes are a good option for cross training. I am planning to try that idea.

Cathletes keep coming back right? lol
Hmmm ..never thought of tennis shoes but it makes sense in terms of quick lateral movement. Have to try that some time! I like doing weighted workouts barefoot or wearing those socks with no heels that some call 'yoga' socks. I have found though that when doing anything with step, I do indeed, need a sneaker so have reluctantly started to wear em.. I lucked out on a zulilly sale and got a pair of Brooks Transcend (not crosstrainers) which I like a lot. Keeps my ankles from rocking and are lightweight. I hate heavy shoes. I have Mizuno Sayonara for long distance walking although they weren't great for step for me.
I've been hearing wonderful things about the Reebok Nano Pump Fusion 'CrossFit' shoe from people. They are not cheap though. May try them out a bit later.

I like Nike Free as well. They are a minimalist shoe, but, for some reason, they work for me. Everyone's feet are different. So, definitely try before you buy.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I've been so focused on running shoes for years these lateral movements are throwing me a bit!

I have these for boot camp, lifting, metabolic workouts, floor cardio etc. Love them. Great cushioning and lateral support. I wear a running shoe by Asics (Gel GT 2000 series) for walking, running and step.

The gel Craze is listed as on sale here at amazon, but try zappos.com too: they always offer free shipping and returns so you can try and retur if not comfy. You can return to amazon also, but not for free.

I started wearing Mizuno Wave Prophecy 3 shoes last year and I think they are Awesome! They are a bit expensive, (over $200), but I see on the Dick's Sporting Goods website the Prophecy 4 is now over 50% off. Good time to try them out, if you're interested. [emoji4]
