ikea furniture??

My sister has an Ikea couch that she purchased 11 years ago and it has held up as well as any other couch over that period of time.
In fact, the last time I was over her apartment I was noticing how full her cushions seemed, as mine always flatten within a few years. She lives alone so that probably has a lot to do with it. And, yes, her slipcovers still fit after washing.
Of course, this isn't the same couch you are thinking of so I don't know if this is an accurate comparison. Just thought I would give you one experience.

Alison, we have the Ektorp sofa and big chair and ottoman. We got them in 2003, I believe. The cushions absolutely eventually get flattened- I'm not sure if that's the couch or my DH who insists on sitting on *top* of the cushion rather than *against* the cushion.
We have the white slipcovers and also the tan. We've washed each a few times since we have black cats, LOL. (great idea, huh?) They wash and dry fine, but be careful putting them back on, as ours have ripped in two places.
I know it sounds strange, but I'd buy the whole set again. Anything to get rid of the old baby blue couch DH's former roommate left!!
