MARIE! I commented to my DH last night that Chris looked odd and that is why! He looked like a goldfish especially with the mouth thing goin' on!

Just for the record, love, love, love Taylor!!!!!!!!
 
My problem with last night is that I kept hearing Elvis' baritone, and none of these singers has anything close to that deep, sometimes mellow, always gorgeous tone. They just all seemed to shrink to mediocrity and I didn't want to vote for any of them last night. How in the world could Kat do Elvis?
 
I think Chris is sexy, but I also think he needs to spend some time watching his mannerisms. The "O" face is distinctly unattractive!

I also thought Kat was at a distinct disadvantage, having to do Elvis in falsetto! (For the record, I love Elvis and I don't think anyone can do him really well.)

I could see Taylor doing the Vegas circuit. I'd pay to watch him for entertainment value :) Tho I still say Chris has the best voice. He has been pretty consistent.

Yes I heard that and loved it! As far as the last 4 - all are good so this is tough. I don't think Chris has picked the best songs to showcase his talents the past few weeks. Also concerned about his voice being strong enough to do this full time. Didn't they comment about him not singing from the diaphragm which might be causing more strain on the voice. Taylor is entertaining. Kat has a great voice but last night was tough for her. I give her credit though for taking a chance and stepping out of her comfort zone. I thought the pros comment about her were interesting - obviously impressed. Elliott has a good voice and probably the best of the men but I do not think he is as popular.
 
I live about an hour away from Elliot's hometown of Richmond, VA, and they've had several articles in the paper about him and several spots on the local news. He's been through SO much adversity, it's really amazing. Apart from the health issues, such as type 1 diabetes (which he wears a pump for 24/7), he was basically told by his high school principal that he should just quit school. I'm a high school English teacher, and this just KILLS me that an adult educator would tell a kid that. Elliot was a sophomore and ended up dropping out. He hung out at Foot Locker for awhile, and the manager took him under his wing and convinced him to go back and get his GED. He did, and that same Foot Locker manager ended up as one of Elliot's guests on American Idol several weeks ago.

I had no idea that Elliot had type 1 diabetes. I'm glad that this got brought up. I think that all celebrities that have this type of diabetes really need to speak up and let everyone know that you can lead a normal life. It would help out the children and parents of the children that are getting diagnosed with it.

I'm afraid Chris will go tonight and it REALLY should be Catherine. I really don't like her. She's beautiful of course but just don't like her style.

Agree like someone said Taylor for entertainment - Simon is so right he is like a drunken father at a wedding. His 2nd song was good.

I really like Elliot a lot. He certainly grows on you.
