I was feeling pretty cute until.......

I got my passport picture taken. Brutal!!!! No smile, no flattering angles and the lighting!! YIKES!! Keeps me humble I guess :+ I'll have to remember to look uber miserable when I'm going through customs or they'll never recognize me:p :7

I just got my new passport in the mail today. Since I was renewing I was able to pick a flattering picture and send it in....much better than my old one, not to mention I'm down 60 lbs since that old picture! Where are you going? Hopefully somewhere fun!! :)

Great job on losing 60 lbs Tracey! ^^5 Girl, you've been working HARD!! :) It's my daughters who are going somewhere fun. My 18 year old is going to Australia in the spring and my 16 year old is headed to France for an exchange. I'm Canadian and will soon be needing a passport for land border crossings into the States so my 13 year old and I got ours as well. Now that our dollar is equal to your dollar shopping in the U.S. will be even more 'funner' :7.

My passports and driver's license photos have always been HORRENDOUS. I was SO glad to renew my driver's license last April. In the previous one, I had one eye shut and they didn't allow me to retake it! So, whenever I was carded, I'd say it was my "after" shot.

BTW, my current passport has a photo of me at my heaviest. I've since lost 35 lbs. and look VERY different.

So you're not alone.

Happy shopping!! What better consolation? :D

Laurie, if we all looked like our passport and driver's license pics, the world would be a pretty ugly place. :p :+

When you cross the border, keep going until you hit NYC, okay? :D :D ;)

Exactly! I think that there must be a conspiracy so that our license and passport photos come up looking hideous!

I have to agree with the whole conspiracy thing...I hate my license photo x( I renewed it during the winter and I was sick that day. My face looks really pale and chubby.

I'll never forget this one day I was checking out and the cashier asked for ID, she actually said wow you've lost a lot of weight haven't you...no kidding!

Re: bad driver's license pix - my mom always said that you wouldn't be smiling when you got pulled over so that's why the pix looked like that...:7

Laurie - you'll appreciate this one. My new DL pic is awful, but at least it's better than my last one. Several people commented on my resemblance to Karla Homolka in my last license pic. Ugh.

Shelley, you gave me a full body recoil with that one *shudder*, didn't see THAT coming!

Nancy, true enough but I was pleasantly surpised by my last license photo, it's a good one. It'll have claw marks in it when they try to take it from me when I have to renew:+ Shopping in NYC with you hmmm, well I do need new shoes;):)

Sorry yours turned out so bad. I had to get mine renewed before we went to Italy last year. My original picture was quite cute and I actually resemble a human being in it. But this one, oh this one is a beaut. I'm absolutely GORgous!!! My hair is a lovely shade of bright orange, the kind you'd see on someone in the entertainment industry, (read: clown) and it looks like it has a straw-like texture. My face is a flattering moon-pie shape. Thankfully, they did a real close-up so it looks HUGE---which is always an attractive look on ANYone. I was told by the very talented photographer with the crappy digital camera that you can't smile in them anymore---well, let me just say that that sour look on my face makes me that much more beautiful!!! Yep, I'm a real looker in this one. I may just have to send a copy to a modeling agency since it looks so UTTERLY fantastic.

Anyway, I just can't wait to travel abroad again, so that I can whip that baby out and see the looks of awe and silent envy when the customs people look at my lovely mug. x(
