I think my neighbor ...

Cathlete
killed her husband. Seriously. She and her 11-year old son and "his nanny" moved in next door in August. She's renting this house for - get ready - $3,000.00 a month! Tells me when she moved in that her husband passed away in June, But didn't seem terribly upset when re-counting the story.

So noticing the "nanny" is never around when the boy is, but only when mom is, I asked the boy about her. "My nanny?" he says. "No - she's my mom's friend." Get the picture?

Now there's a new boyfriend around. I know the local policemen and in casual conversation with one of them, he knew exactly who she was - they keep an eye on her. There's more to that conversation that I won't go into.

Am I nuts? Would you be a bit uneasy?

Lorrie

Well, in all seriousness, I don't think you're nuts. This stuff happens all over all of the time. It's hard to think it would ever happen close to you, until it does. Happened here just a couple of years ago a few houses up from mine. A man killed his wife, and she was in teh house for days before anyone found her. Creepy!!!

Sara

Sara,
Repeat after me..."I am not a desperate house wife"..."I am not a desperate house wife":7 :7 :7

Oh mommy got a friend? Well, we all know what that means. The world is made up of alot of creepy people.Anything is possible.I don't think your nuts.
Lori:)

Yes - but none of you has mentioned the fact that she pays $3,000.00 a month - TO RENT! Yes, she could be unbelievably independently wealthy (she's a 29-year old insurance agent) but who pays that kind of money to get no tax benfits at all? Forgive me but I would think you could BUY a VERY nice house for 2 people for that money. Here's another kink - she's been in a civil union with her girlfriend for some time, but her marriage license was pulled 3 months before DH died - of a heart attack. I'm just stuck on the rent money! Wow.
I'll keep you posted.

Lorrie

That is alot to rent a house.Do you think she is telling you the truth? Who would ave ever thought to rent a house for that much? I wouldn't think I would get any takers.

Lori:)

I'm going to come over as a real jerk here, but maybe her husband was a real a** hole - drunk, violent, etc. I was married to a guy like that, and I grew to hate him for how he treated me and my kids. I divorced him, but, truthfully, had he died (of natural causes, of course!) before I divorced him I would not have been upset when recounting the story!

And maybe she has family money that she inherited.
Just Do It! :)

Yep, ya never know...there are alot of idiots out there. I thought about posting that to. If someone was trating me like that "Earl would have to die" :)

LOL Lori you crack me up:7 :7 :7 :7

But seriously Sara, maybe you're over reacting just a bit. I'm sure it's a complete misunderstanding of the information you have.

Those who have lots of $ don't neccessarily care about the tax break or any of that stuff that we who are NOT rich have to concern ourselves with! ;) I know a woman who rents a house out that she owns for about the same amount and it's NEVER vacant!!! Amazing but true! Maybe she knocked him off, maybe she didn't, but the rent doesn't surprise me...it makes me sick, lol...but doesn't surprise me! :)

Or she never loved the guy. She might've loved the "nanny" more than her husband. I agree, he could've been a nasty f**k or she could be a nasty one herself. Who the heck knows with people nowdays. Also, she could be rich herself or he had a real, real nice life insurance. I don't know why she didn't purchase a house but she might just be temporarily staying in that house but 3,000 bucks seems kind of high to me. Then again, it depends on the type of neighborhood and state you live in. I know here on LI, most apartments starts out at 1200 a month just for a studio or a very small crappy 1 bedroom apt.

Hopefully she spills some more out and you report it back on here. LOL }(

Lisa

Maybe he had a heart attack when he found out about the "nanny" :+

do you live in a small town? I know in this town there would be incredible speculation and all eyes would be on them if a gay couple moved into town, but in the city, only 20 miles away, it would be no biggie.

Missy

Not that there's anything wrong with that...:)

Remember the Dixie Chick's, "Earl's gotta die!" LOL :)

Sounds like you need to call Ann Rule!:7 The queen of true crimes.

Do you ever watch Bewitched? This reminds me of that that nosey neighbor. What was her name, Mrs. Kravitz?

Huh - today cops have asked us to make note of the number of cars there and jot down license plate numbers. Would you?

I don't think it's so much nosey as the fact that there are some mighty seedy looking types coming and going in the last 3 months. And I know that's stereotyping, but it does make me a bit uneasy since I've got 3 small kids. So let's see, what I get from you all is that she's more than likely a very wealthy, young, sexually promiscuous woman (keep in mind, she's in a civil union with girlfriend, married to DH 3 months before he kicked, girlfriend back in the scene, and now a new boyfriend) whose late husband could have been an abusive drunk and a nasty f***. Don't know, she's only lived next door for 3 months. But you're all probably right. We'll likely tell the cops no - and that way they'll be in the neighborhood a lot more. Uh huh.
