I think I'm giving up on jeans.

I don't wear jeans very often, but I get so frustrated when I do! I have no butt, pretty meaty thighs for my size, & a large waist. So while 4s might fit me in the waist & the thighs, they're too big in the butt. 2s are WAY too tight.

Are there any jeans out there that won't make me look like I had my a$$ surgically removed? Or should I just switch to a different kind of pants? I like Express's Editor Pants but they seem a little too dressy for jeans-like settings.

I am stumped!

Don't feel stumped!!! Pants are one of the hardest articles of clothing to buy, and sometimes it is worth spending the money to get them altered by a good tailor and having them fit your body as thought they are custom made. I have had alterations done on many pants which fit in the butt and thighs but flared out at my lower back. Just make sure to try lots of different brands, and don't not try something just because it doesn't look great on the hanger. Its surprising how many things that look blah on the hanger can look amazing once you put them on. Does express make jeans in a similar cut to their editor pants... maybe like a trouser-type jean?

Don't give up, there are pants for every body type!!!!

I don't have any advice, just commiserating. I have yet to find jeans that fit me correctly. There is always something too short, too tight, or too loose. Fortunately, I have found a dress pant that suits me, and I guess that's what matters most since that's what I mainly wear.

True Religions always seem to fit a myriad of body types and make those without a booty appear as if they actually have one. Try the "Joey" style, they have the "Bobby" style which I cannot wear. I have muscular thighs, no hips, a rounder (well I am working on it) butt and "smallish" waist, but these are lower rise so the waist isn't a concern really. Try them, or maybe "Rock and Republic" jeans.

I've always had problems finding jeans, but I finally splurged this summer on two pairs of Lucky jeans, and I love them! I have the opposite problem as you -- a huge, Italian rear end; a small waist; and bulky thighs, but I finally found some that fit me!

I hate the thought of spending so much on jeans, but I think that the high end ones really do fit better and come in more sizes/shapes. Do you have a Nordstrom or Macys near you? You might want to go to their jeans dept. and see if you can get some advice!

Good luck!:)

I agree with Leanne. I love Lucky jeans and like Leanne, I have the German version of the huge butt, small waist and bulky thighs. They fit great and I always get compliments when I wear them. I took 2 of my sisters there a couple of weeks ago and they each bought a pair. We each have different body types but all 3 of us found the right jeans for us. I also have to mention that I have been in 3 Lucky stores in 3 different states and the sales personnel have all been fantastic. They are all very helpful and will work to find the perfect pair of jeans for you.

No, I seriously think I'm giving up. I have a ton of Luckys & Levis, my former favorites. I've spent a lot of time trying to build my butt & the result has been bigger thighs but still no butt, & now a bunch of jeans that are uncomfortably tight.

I wish sweatpants would become a new fashion. If I could wear them out to dinner I'd be a happy camper. :+

Hi LauraMax!
Although I have no idea your measurement etc, jeans ARE those things that everyone not only fits different, but also PREFERS different.
I am 5'2, 120 lbs. People think im so tiny, but I usually wear a 28 or even a 30! Im not frail or slender anymore.. my thighs are also bigger than one might expect. I don't like jeans that go up to my bellybutton or up to my titties as I don't like them digging into my stomache!
I also odnt like jeans that are stiff and leave marks on my skin when I take them off, so 100% cotton had ALWAYS been ut of the question!
I like jeans that are a blend of cotton and elastaine and/or polyester, these give great stretch to girls that have some thickness or a little curve.
I love them!
Crazy Age makes some great brands, they're European and really hard to find, I get mine in the City.
I used to like Express jeans and XOXO, but I haven't wron them in a while and they don't have the stretch I like sometimes.
I would try the strechy jeans though, they aren't "pre-shaped" like 100% cotton jeans that tend to have their own shape-- and then you just fit in them.
I also have no butt, so I like the stretchy jeans as they shape a little more to to what I DO have.. and a lot of jeans that come up too high do tend to buckle in the tailbone on a lot of women.
DEFINITLY try the stretch jeans. Try the lower rises if you haven't already just to see the difference.
Try different brands, stay away from cheaper ones as they don't always make them the same. Not all stretch jeans are made equal lol.
Good Luck!

I've recently found success with a new pair of Lucky jeans (I've got a round bum), and really like them. I used to like how Gap jeans fit, although I haven't tried them recently. But I also see they now have more styles than the last time I purchased them. Levi stores are also good, as they have many styles and you can usually find what you're after.

I recently heard on the radio...Myshape.com. You go and input all your measurements and they tell you exactly what clothing would fit you perfectly. I guess it's alot like Zafu.com.

I haven't checked it out yet, but it sounds good..:)

Gap reverse fit worked for me...but since Eva Longoria started wearing the baby blue, pink, light green running suits on Housewives, THAT's what I"M talking about!!!! Much softer and forgiving!!!!

Ohhh, I'm the other way. WAAAYYYY too much butt, and not enough denim. I always end up with the dreaded back-gap. And they can be too big in the front part of the waist. I don't have any jeans suggestions for ya, but I feel your pain. My last pair that I got that fit really well were and $11 clearance pair from WalMart. Too bad they only had 1 pair, 'cause I would've bought them all!! Maybe buy the pair that fits the best, and see if you can get them tailored?

Laura, you should be looking for jeans with flap pockets or other decoration on the rear to make your rear appear larger. You should also be wearing low-rise jeans, so the waist issue is avoided altogether. And, of course, your jeans should be made of a stretch fabric so they stretch to fit your figure. Have you tried all of that already?

I've been wearing my Lucky Sweet-n-Low's for years and I still can't believe how flattering they are. I am also a tad flat in the rear and a bit larger in the waist, but I have MUCH more trouble finding tops that fit than bottoms. But that's a whole 'nother thread. x(

I just bought a pair of jeans at Hollister. I like them, but watch out if you have to bend over or your whole bottom might be showing

Yes, you should give up on the jeans. In fact, clear out the clutter and send me your stash of "no fits". My closet is bare. I'll pass on any I can't use to the next Catheite. }( }( }(
