I purchased a BOSU Trainer for $39.50

I was in Academy Sports yesterday and they had a BOSU Trainer marked down to $78.99. I was like "Nah...still cost too much and I don't really have anymore room for equipment." I must have said it out-loud, because the guy that works in that department said it was actually half off the $78.99.

So what did I do, being the true shopaholic that I am. I grabbed that sucker and a few other items (you know since it was on sale, I was saving money so I could justify buying additional items, even though I was not in there looking for a BOSU Trainer in the first place.) Somehow I managed to spend over $100.

Clearance is my most favorite word in the dictionary.:7

Wow, that is a really good price for a BOSU!

I'm like you, if I'm saving, I think what they hey, pick up a few more things after all they're on sale right? :)

That is awesome! I hope you love it as much as I love mine. It really is a lot of fun and you can do quite a bit with it.

Could anyone explain to me what's difference between BOSU and regular stability ball? Is it worth spending money to get BOSU when I already have stability ball and still working on to get into Pike position?

Thanks

Awesome find Desi, I wish we had one of those places here or I'd try to get one that cheap.

WantFit,

Bosu, is kind of like half a stability ball with a hard flat back. Depending on the challenge is dependant of what side you use and how much you blow it up. I love these things, it really makes you work on balance and working your muscles more functionally. Do you really need one, probably not. Do you need functional training and balance training, more then likely. As this allows you to keep yourself from getting injured. Say you slip on ice, with functional and balance training, you can help yourself either pull out of the slip, or prepare yourself better for the fall. We all prefer to bring ourselves out of the slip, rather then land on that nice ice cold ground. I have noticed my reflexes and strength through reflexes has improved with the BOSU trainer. But then I have only toss my walker out the door, since Sept of 04. And I had a whole lot of balance and strength to get back from breaking my back. Still not where I'd like it, but very much improved.

Desi-that is a fabulous deal!

Want--I use mine for step all the time and boy, does it make it harder! I LOVE it. I think I figured out why...when you are using the bosu, because step is fast-paced, you can't really step up all the way with your stationary leg straight. So that leg is always "engaged". Boy my thighs feel it!

Is it a must? Nah. Is it great. Yah!

Kit, thanks for your detail explanations. I would like to have it one day, but not now, with so many things in my plates.
