I Need Help from the BFFM'ers?

I am finally getting around to reading the book and starting Tom's changes whole heartely but I really for some reason am having a hard time getting a grasp of the calorie's needed per day. According to his formula my BMR is 1460.57 x 1.55 (moderate, i justed used this choice as a mid ground) my maintenace is 2263.88. My question is normally I burn (today as an example) 580 during cardio so shouldn't my maintenace be more like 2040, but if I deducted 500calories from that i would be at 1540 a day and is that too low for my activity level? Here is also what I dont't get according to my HRM last week I burned 2689 calories for the week and if my bmr per day is 1460 that is 12909 calories burned for the week. Ok with that said I ate say a average of 1600 calories per day that is 11200 calories per week so that breaks down to a deficit of 244 per day which is ok but if I up my calories to anywhere between 16-2100 calories(zig zagging) per day(like Tom says) I am no longer going to have that larger deficit needed to lose BF? I just don't get it.

Here is an example of my w/o week

s- hce hi/lo+ 1/2 Imax2 + ab jam
m- pub/plb/ premix+ the floor work+ floor work from l&G
t- long run on tm approx 55 min 6.0 miles at 6.2mph
w- me+bc mix+abs
th- kpc complete+ KM blasts
f- gym styles all three mish moshed together approx 90 minutes+ some cardio intervals mixed in.
s- stretch and rest

Right now I eat approx 15-1600 callories a day and am not getting anywhere actually i put on a few LBS(and a 1/2 inch):-( I also carry alot of water weight I always have.

Do I really need to up my calories? Also I eat rather clean my biggest draw back is a few FF animal crackers here and there.

Sorry so long i just really need to get off this wrong way fitness track. I would REALLY appreciate any and all help!!

:D :D

Hi

Here is what I did (seems to be working for me so far):

I took my maintenance level (for you that was 2263.88) and multiplied by 15 or 20% (Tom says in the book that this is a more precise method) to determine how many calories to cut. If you did that I think you would be eating around 1800 or 1900 calories per day on your low days and then you could go back to your maintenance level to zig zag.

You said you were eating around 1500 to 1600 and not getting any results so maybe you should try increasing it?

Good Luck
