I would like to find out the calories, fat, etc in the Protein Pancakes. Is anybody doing Weight Watchers online that could go in the recipe thingie they have where you can enter all the ingredients and get this information. Below is the recipe I use if anybody can help:

1 cup fat free cottage cheese
1 cup oatmeal
6 eggs whites
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons whole ground flax meal

I know it takes time to do this, but I'd appreciate it from the bottom of my heart - my belly will thank you too:9 :7

Hey girl! Here it is from http://www.sparkpeople.com

1 cup cottage cheese = 163 cals (this was with 1%, they didn't have the NF), 26g protein, 2g fat, 6g carb
1 cup oatmeal = 300 cals- 10g protein, 6g fat, 54g carb
6 egg whites = 102 cals- 18g protein, 0g fat, 3g carb
2 T. flaxseed = 60 cals- 4g protein, 4g fat, 4g carb

625 cals ~ 59g protein, 12g fat, 67g carb

38% protein/ 19% fat/ 43% carb

Oh, protein pancakes taste GREAT!
That recipe is for 2 servings....correct?
Another variation is to replace the cottage cheese with canned pumpkin and add some pie spice. YUMMY!!

I know that recipe says 2 servings but I make 5 pancakes! One fills me up so I have one at 6:00am and one at 9:00am w/blueberries...today will be cantaloupe!

JESS!!! Thank You so very much! You're something else!!!!

I wanted to add another idea:)
For the pancakes I make with cottage cheese, I make my own strawberry syrup. I take frozen whole strawberries and microwave them until they are soft and warm. Then, mash them up until it resembles a chunky syrup and then pour them on top!!
Oh my goodness, the natural sweetness!!!

Hi Tina

Can you let me know if you mix this with a food processor? I have tried making protein pancakes before by just mixing everything with a spoon and I found that I really disliked them because they tasted like I was eating an omlette with raw oatmeal in it.

I thought maybe by grinding the oatmeal the pancakes would be a little more like a traditional pancake.

I really need some new recipes and this looks so good because it can be made ahead and the nutrient ratios are just what I am looking for.

Thanks!
Corrie

Hi Corrie!

I do mix them in a food processor until it looks as smooth as it can get! Then I let them sit just for a minute or two while I'm preheating the skillet (almost medium I'd say). I spray the pan with olive oil spray and let them cook until I see bubbles on the top then I flip 'em.

I believe it was Jess that mentioned blueberries one time - and it's an awesome combination!!!!:9 I also like the ideas Fit44 posted. Using the pumpkin is a great idea...and the mashed strawberries! YUMMY!

They are a lifesaver to me!!!!

Corrie,

I don't have a food processor, so I use my electric blender(same one I use to mix shakes) to mix it. Chops the oatmeal up pretty good. My pancakes come out like the traditional boxed kind:)

I like them either way- processing them in a food chopper or just mixing it together. I usually use about half the recipe posted (1/2 c. old fashioned oats, 1/2 c. cottage cheese, and 1/2 c. eggbeaters + 1 T. flax and 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder.) YUMMY! I make one big puffy pancake in an 8" omelet pan.

Oh, and they are good with pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice!
