I must have been lucky... (gofit)

I have the 25#'er and I want to say it was $45 at Dick's? So depending on how much shipping is, it might be cheaper at Dick's! HTH!

I just bought a 16kg (35#) Grey Series kettlebell from MuscleDriver. It ended up being about $15 CHEAPER than Dick's WITH shipping included. Dick's wanted $80 for the same size Go Fit. MD also included a free T-shirt. *snaps*

I ordered it Saturday, and got it yesterday. So far, the handle feels fine to me, but I haven't tried snatches with it...that's gonna be little while. :D

My other KBs are Perform Better.

ETA - I paid $66 TOTAL for the Muscle Driver KB.

Gayle,

How are the handles on your 35lb muscle drivers? Some complain they are really thick and difficult to grip?

I only had the chance to do a few swings (1 hand and 2 hand) with them, and they feel fine so far.

I can measure them against my Perform Better's tonight when I get home and report back.

are the muscle drivers at Dicks sporting goods? were having one built down the street from me it should be open within the next month. So I'm wondering. I noticed kettlebellsusa.com is having a sale on the aders though.
I noticed a 200lb one. wow there are people who can use that?? yikes. and it was $400!!! ouch. lol.

I have a catalog at home from Power Systems that has kettlebells. They have a disclaimer that the handles are 1" in diameter for anything up to (I believe it was 50lbs) then they go up to 1 1/2".

The Power Systems look really good! I can't see myself going past 45lbs. I hope their shipping is reasonable.
I may go check out Gofits at my local Target for comparison.
Iron Woody's are suppose to have small handles, but their shipping is too pricey.

Oh, here is another kbell workout that looks good!

I don't think it's out yet:p

I have:
  • Art of Strength Providence
  • AoS Firepower
  • AoS Newport
  • The Extreme Kettlebell Cardio Workout (Keith Weber)
  • Kettlebell Goddess
  • Iron Core Way Vol. 1
  • Iron Core Way Vol. 2
Anthony's (AoS) are the best, IMO.

Some workouts use two kettlebells for certain exercises, but modifications are shown if you only have a single.

Hi Cathy,

I really want to get AoS Firepower, but was worried because it looked like a lot of the exercises used a pair of KBs. Could I really use just one KB during this workout? Thanks!! :)

Leanne--

Here is the breakdown for the workout. Each exercise within a round is done for one minute. If it's marked with an *, Anthony uses two bells.

Warmup: Joint Mobility Drills
Round 1: TGUs
Round 2: Alt. clean & press* ~ Double Arm Rows*
Round 3: Super burpee ~ Figure 8 to hold ~ Super plank
Round 4: Alt. double cleans* ~ Suitcase deadlifts ~ Alt. chest press* ~ Russian twists
Round 5: Hi pull/Snatch ~ Seesaw press* ~ Figure 8/lunge ~ Renegade rows* ~ Squat/triple crush
Bonus: 5 minute snatch test

The premixes are as follows:
1 alarm - 1x through, long rests - 30 min.
2 alarm - 1x through, short rests -25 min.
3 alarm - 2x through, long rests - 55 min.
4 alarm - 2x through, short rests - 45 min.
General alarm - 1x through, no rest -20 min.

I did use this workout with only one bell--it's doable--but to be honest, this is the workout that nudged me to want to have a pair.

and you use 2 20# cathy? Is that a good weight for you? think you'll stick with that weight for doubles?

yeah I went back and saw that then edited my question ;)

post here again: and you use 2 20# cathy? Is that a good weight for you? think you'll stick with that weight for doubles?

Oh! I didn't notice you'd edited. :)

I get use out of all three: the 15, both 20s, and 25. Depends on the exercise and how I strong I feel on any given day. The 20#s work for me as a pair for now, although sometimes I am going a little slower than Anthony. I am using the 20# for most of the other exercises, too. I think I could go heavier than 25 for things like rows, but I'm not ready to shell out the bucks for another bell just yet.

I think someone said that was his wife. I don't know if it is though. I guess I can't do that unless I work out at a gym with Kbells. No way am I buying all those just for playing with swings.

I have doubles of 14#, 18# and 25#. I use 18# for most double exercises. I have a single 30# and 35# and have asked for a 44# for my birthday. Yikes!!

My kettlebells are either from Dragon Door, Perform Better or Power Systems. I like Perform Better best. The handle is smooth and perfect for my small hands.

Thanks so much, Cathy! It sounds like a second one would be good, but I'll probably have to wait awhile before getting it. :(

I'm going to purchase kbells up to 45lbs. Unless I need heavier for my DH or DS. At this point, none of the guys in my house are interested. They may change their mind when they get here. My oldest son like the picture of Lauren:p

It's good to know about the Perform Better. I splurged on the vinyl. I couldn't resist those colors! I purchased a pair of 8kg, 1-12kg, and 1-4kg.
I may go back for another 4kg.
