I miss working out!

Lately, things are so busy at work, I'm there for 12 hours a day, and I've been working weekends too. I love my work, and I wouldn't mind it if it weren't for not having time to work out (and shop). I'm basically limited to working out on Saturdays and Sundays, which is something, but not really enough for me.

I know someone is going to say I should spend less time posting on the Cathe board so I can workout more, but I'm only on this board while I'm eating my meals. Right now I'm eating breakfast. Reading the posts on these forums really relax me while I'm eating and drinking my coffee. I really do love working out, and I'm envious of all of you out there who can fit it in to your schedules!

Anyone else have this problem? Misery loves company!

Thanks for listening to my self-indulgent rant. Have a great weekend everyone!

I am lucky with my schedule Nancy....I always have time to work out. Will work for you slack off a bit after X-Mas? I know working out will make you feel better....:)....you can rant whenever you need to....Carole

Nancy, I empathise. I've come down with the flu which is why I am camped here for today. I too haven't been able to workout since I switched careers to become a dog groomer. I love what I am doing but I never realised that I would have to sacrifice Cathe for it. I have to work on Saturdays and even though I could workout at nights, I find that my body can't handle a regular workout routine. By the time I'm done with the dogs, I am pretty exhausted.

I have been trying to fit in 2 or 3 tapes in the evenings but its hard. I find that the day after a work out is sheer torture - especially if I have to work on big/ heavy dogs. On the bright side of things - atleast we have work we love and a healthy hobby that we can look forward to. Just last year I was on the other side - hating my desk job and working out every minute available in an obsessive manner. That was even worse.

I guess there will always be gaps in our work load when we can catch up with our workouts (and our shopping!) In the meantime there is vicarious fitness of course through the forums!

Hope you feel better soon and have good a weekend.

PRfitness,

Thanks for your post. So sorry to hear about your flu!

You are absolutely right about the bright side. You and I are much luckier than most in having careers that we really enjoy most of the time. And it is good to know that whenever we have time, we have a great hobby that we love. My job definitely does ease up at times, and sometimes I'm able to work out more than twice a week. I guess no one gets to have it all!

I love dogs! It must be so much fun to be with them all day.
Hope you feel better soon.

Yes, you guys are lucky that you love what you do. I work very grueling hours in public accounting, even outside of "busy season". I even work on weekends. So I squeeze in workouts whenever I can but it's usually no more than like 3 in a week (and that's on a good week). Like this week I did CTX Upper Body, MIC, and KPC. I hope to get LL in sometime today or tomorrow. But I'm all over the place and hate being so unorganized with my workouts... Especially since I'm going to be in South Beach for New Year's and wish I was in much better shape.

Edited to say that what I miss most about working out constantly is feeling energetic all day and just generally being in a better mood.... I feel SO sluggish when I don't workout.

I totally hear you. I love the way I feel when I'm working out more than anything and really miss it when I can't.
