I jumped! My experience so far of working out at home!

Hi guys,

I am pleased to say that I did Cardio and Weights this morning as my first "at home" workout. It was great. I got up at 5.30am and worked out for a whole hour. I was sweating buckets when I finished. I'm sure that I will have major DOMS tomorrow!

It was really good to have finished my workout by 6.30 and have the whole day in front of me without having to worry about going to the gym. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders when I put my membership on time freeze.

I am planning on a run tomorrow and adding some weights at the end. Any suggestions - I only have the Intensities and Bodyblasts. I'm thinking Supersets or Push Pull.

Thanks for your support

RE: I jumped! My experience so far of working out at h...

I LOVE working out at home. I let my gym membership go about 2 years ago and have been working out at home ever since. I get up at 6 am and am done by 7 and like you, have the whole day ahead of me. Just think of all the workouts and equipment you can spend that gym membership money on now:)

I'm so excited that someone else is realizing how awesome it is to workout at home!!! Congrats and happy sweating:)

Congrats!! That's awesome!! I too love working out early in the AM and having the whole day in front of me!!

As for tomorrow, I would think Supersets or Push Pull would be fine, as long as you aren't too sore in the morning from the weight work you did today. The run might be enough, but if you feel like you need to add something afterwards and you're too sore, you could always do say ... the step or hi/lo portion of Step Jump & Pump, or the first two combos of Step Blast, or the first 20 minutes or so of Kick Punch & Crunch, or the first half of Imax2!! That'll give you a major cardio add-on!! The possibilities are endless with the two series you have!!

Today was my first day too! We've had a treadmill for a few years now, so I am used to doing that at home. But today was my first Cathe workout - Power Hour. I'm already sore! I was up at 6:00, worked out and in the shower before any of the kids woke up. I didn't even have to let the dog out until I was dressed. It was great to have it done and the rest of the day free. I plan on letting my gym membership run out. Now I need to get my own barbell set. I nearly took out a few walls trying to use my hubby's gigantic set, and I didn't even put any plates on it. :)
I plan on running tomorrow, or pushing a stroller while walking a dog for 2 miles with lots of hills. Does that count as cardio? I always work up a sweat!
Congrats & Good Luck,
Bobbi

Bobbi - the walking DEFINITELY counts as cardio and with the hills, what a great workout for your glutes and thighs! I did the same thing with the barbell I got from my cousin- I was hitting walls, light bulbs, etc. then I finally had the ends cut off which took about 20 seconds and has saved my workout room! Maybe you could do the same if your husband doesn't mind:)

By the way, welcome to the forums and we look forward to seeing you around!

I have never gone to a gym.I only would go to do weight. I think that cathe hi/low cardio and step is better that to do step or aeboric in a gym class and I can work without the others seeing who I do the steps and repeat the step that I do not get taking the dvd backward.

Good for you! I love working out at home. I find it to be a lot more fun than working out at the gym and I gave up my gym membership after discovering Cathe this past year.

I can't get up early to do workouts no matter how fun though. I'm always going to be a late afternoon, early evening kind of gal. I admire people who exercise in the morning.

Hi girls,

Well I only have major DOMS in my abs and triceps! Today I went out for a run/walk (30mins) and did the first half of BodyCombat 17 (I used to teach Bodycombat). I'm really unfit, but I'm pleased to keep going.

I've decided to try StepBlast tomorrow - I've previewed it and it looks like fun.

Thanks for your support,

I love the idea of doing my exercise in my home, dressed how I want, done WHEN I want, and I don't think anyone could work me out as intensely as Cathe. Great isn't it?

Yes, I can't believe how convenient this is. I just have to get over the thought of DH coming out and seeing me do this.

Step Blast this morning was a blast!
