I have a confession.

I don't like shrugs. Nor do I like the cropped sweater look. Maybe I'm an old lady, & I don't mean any offense to those who do like them, but I just can't get on board w/a look that makes women appear either they didn't do their laundry or they can't afford clothes for themselves, so they're wearing their 9 year old daughter's stuff.

That's my fashion rant for the day.:)

Maximus ~
Ditto for me, too! I refuse to be a slave to fashion trends and prefer to wear stylish clothes that are age appropriate and fit me well. I'm all for feeling good in your skin but a lot of skin I'm seeing these days would be better off covered up! I don't want to see your rolls of ab and back fat or your thong, thank you very much! "Woman" don't look sexy wearing trendy clothes designed for "girls"! Just my 2 cents!

Didn't the cropped sweater go out of style???? If not I guess I'm out of it. I don't like ponchos either. No offense but yucko!

Ok since we are on this track ,is it just me or do you feel like saying sometimes enough with the baggy look already, please pull your pants up nobody really wants to see that,i mean come on !!! Oh and one more thing girls that wear the pants so low and tight the butt crack shows, eewwww, this is considered attractive? Gross, things sure have changed,i would be mortified if my butt showed like that ,again eewwwww!!

I didn't know what a shrug was either. I thought you were talking about the weight lifting move shrug. LOL.

I work with a lady who wears, every single day, an elastic waist pair of cotton pant, bulled up just below her breasts. I feel sorry for her. LOL

Ponchos are actually out of style already-according to one of the latest fashion magazines.I actually thought they were cute-most of them anyway.

What is the point of this garment?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And I bet they charge $50 for so little fabric!

Now that we're on a fashion rant thread ~ this is for all of you who have teenage daughters at home. Please don't let them wear low rider jeans with thongs! I am a high school English teacher, and I can't tell you HOW many times a month I have to ask young ladies to wrap a jacket around their waists. I don't consider myself a prudish teacher either. I'm 31, been teaching 11 years and have a great rapport with students. However, I detest seeing thongs all day long when girls are leaning over their desks doing work!

(Sorry ~ hope no one takes offense ~ just a pet peeve of mine!)

Wait a minute here....I thought by shrugs you meant an exercise. That is why I said I hate lunges. Boy do I feel like an idiot. ;(

I hate extreme low riders and seeing things we shouldn't be forced to see. My 16 yo will NEVER wear something like that. If I ever caught her wearing anything like that she would live to regret it. ;-)

Oh that makes me laugh--I was at a bar a few weeks ago & there was a (very) young lady there who had on this peasant-like skirt made out of a really thin material. She had it pulled so far down her crack was showing, & it was obvious she wasn't wearing underwear. Is this a new way to pick up drunk men, or did she just run out of clean undies? :D

lol Shirley don't worry I thought she meant the exercise too. Anyway you know a trend is over when you see almost every single person wearing it. That's why I never bought ugg boots and ponchos and I'm not even going to bother with the gaucho pants trend this year. I also agree that letting your butt crack show with super low rise jeans is extremely tacky.

I have always disliked the one bare shoulder look...It looks like the other half of the top is bunched up in your back possibly and you just forgot to put both arms through!! Another one I don't like is the neckline off to the side, you know on the sweaters that are turtleneck like and the flap comes down on the side...

Ohhh yes and I'm with the general consensus here that low riders and thongs and not a pretty combination.

Ditto here--I thought UGG boots were called UGG b/c that's what everyone says when they see them. ;)

I have a couple of ponchos--they're crochet & really nice to throw over a sundress on cool summer nights. But I consider them something like a light sweater, not something to wear into the office.

GAUCHOS? People, this ain't Australia! LOL!

Anyway, my prediction is the shrug will be out of fashion by next year. I hope anyway.

O.k, as long as we are confessing to things we don't like...I HATE seeing grown women with pigtails! I'm sorry, the 'I'm just a little girl of 30 or 40' thing looks foolish to me.

I saw a woman in the airport the other day and noticed what she was wearing. She had on a poncho that was patterned after a horse's blanket, you know, the kind that go under a saddle, NO FRINGE. It looked very nice, thick, and expensive. Then she had on a pair of cowboy boots that looked like they cost $1,000. She looked absolutely fabulous. I couldnt take my eyes off that outfit. She carried herself in this certain way that I can't explain. She was with a man and he looked just as good. He was carrying a very expensive briefcase and wearing jeans with boots. They looked great.

Oh well, I still dont like ponchos.
