I Have a Confession to Make

Did you know that if you made one of the data nicks in a DVD (or CD) an inch long, the DVD itself would be over a mile long?

That's one of the only things I remember from my electronic music course in college. :-(

:)

Michele! Michele! The pressure is on to write interesting stuff in our thread! Hey you other Cardio Haters who work too much and haven't been checking in!! You know who you are!! (And we know who you are, too.)

I agree with you about Heather's post! I think she has a career in stand up...NO! She could write a weekly column or a blog. Heather--you're a gem and thanks for your GREAT reply!

ETA a big thanks to all of you for playing with me:+

Mission for Michele

Michele:

I have an assignment for you if you choose to accept it. Before you repent of your life of crime, do you think you could run over to Jersey (yes, that would be cardio) and snatch a set of DVDs for me?! ;-) In a fit of temporary insanity, I failed to preorder on the first day and have a high order number. :-( I am fresh out of patience, and the wait is driving me crazy. Please airlift those DVDs to Texas ASAP. I will take a dozen pumpkin spice donuts with extra glaze for my gift! :9 I would really appreciate your help here. I am losing my mind over this. If I do not get my DVDs by the end of next week, I fear that I will end up in the home for the bewildered with no internet connection.

Tina, I am glad my post made you smile. :) If I ever meet you in person, you should be aware that I have been known to make people laugh until their abs are sore for days. :7

Michele, let me know when you will be here with my DVDs and donuts. I will leave the light on for you! We can enjoy a few cups of Bengal Spice herb tea with those donuts and do cardio together of course! :7

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Mission for Michele

Heather--ROTFLOL!!! I still haven't recovered from your famous line, "I'm fired up and ready to take on hell with a water pistol".

Repent? NEVER!!:p

A word of caution--the donuts are evil. I'm completely addicted to the pumpkin donuts and I can't wait until Nov 1st when they stop making them (it's the special for the month of October).

I cannot believe that YOU of all people failed to order early. And you don't want to do cardio with me. I'm a total klutz. I'd just be in the way:eek: :7

Oh, I'm sorry about the donut smears on the DVD's:eek::p

Confession Time

Michele:

It is time for me to confess all my sins. Well, a few of them anyway. ;-) I am fun-loving girl. If it ain’t fun, I am begging God to deliver me from it! :7 I would rather laugh and play than clean. :7 My home is a federal disaster area. I am very good at dancing around the piles, but it would be best if we do that joint cardio session at your place since you are not as agile. I would hate to see you hurt yourself! ;-)

I did not preorder last September because I was still relatively new to Cathe. I knew that I wanted to preorder eventually, but I was sending all my extra money to Cathe every month in the process of acquiring her existing workouts. This year-long delay was a blessing in disguise for me. When I first read her announcement last year about all the new workouts she had planned for the future, I was wondering how on earth I would ever complete my collection if she started producing new workouts every few months. I still need to upgrade some of my collection to DVD, but I have finally acquired just about everything I need thanks to the generous Ya Ya who blessed me with the Hardcore Series in August! :)

If you promise not to tell anyone, I will let you in on a big secret. I hated step aerobics and weight training at one time. I thought I did anyway until I experienced Cathe’s style. I have never been athletic. I hated gym class with a passion and would do anything to get out of it in my school days. I even tried to flush my gym clothes down the toilet when I was in junior high school (and succeeded in flooding the toilet and making a big mess)! :7 Yes, I did. When I started this great and glorious journey to living fit and free, I had no athletic ambitions at all. I just wanted to be able to bend over and paint my toes without throwing up or getting winded! :7

I have a dear friend who is a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. I call her Pit Bull. She teaches a very intense class. It is the cardio boot camp class I wrote about in my “take on hell with a water pistol” thread. Let me paint you a word picture of Pit Bull. Just imagine Cathe on crack. :7 That’s her! It was very intimidating for me to join a fitness club and start taking classes at my top weight. Even though her class was the most advanced, I joined it because of my friendship with her. I pushed myself until I could get through it. This was before she started teaching cardio boot camp by the way. The class was more like Cardio Kicks. My body acclimated to that level of intensity. Nothing less worked for me. She was my personal trainer for a season as well but had to cut back on her evening hours for family reasons.

I hate machines (cardio and weight) and started searching for a butt-kicking video workout that would leave me drenched in sweat and begging for mercy. I love a challenge. I need a challenge. I get bored when I perceive that something is too easy. The Ya Yas told me to come over here to Cathe dot com with my credit card in hand. Cardio Kicks was my first Cathe workout. No step. No weight training. It was very similar to Pit Bull’s cardio knockout class. I loved it. I wanted more. I got brave (or foolish!) and did Boot Camp for my second Cathe workout. Big mistake. I woke up the next morning feeling as if I had been run over by a steamroller. I have more passion than sense at times! :7 Starting with the more intermediate workouts and working my way up never crossed my mind!

I bonded with Cathe immediately and started buying more of her workouts. I was limited in what I was willing to try at first because of my aversion to step. I was also intimated by her barbells! I was used to seeing the teeny weenie barbells the FIRM instructors use! Cathe’s workouts looked way too athletic for this girly girl. Then the VHS sale was announced. I ordered a bunch of videos that I never imagined I would like. At that price, I was willing to take a chance. And I did not just like them. I loved them. I fell in love with Rhythmic Step the first time I did it. I actually bought it for my birthday in August but did not unwrap it and give it a whirl until the first of November. I realized the first time I experienced it that I love choreographed step workouts. I acquired a whole collection of videos through the VHS sale. I did not even have a DVD player at the time. I bought my first DVD player when I finally preordered in February. All this to say that Cathe made a step lover out of me, and I know that she can make a cardio lover out of you! :7

I will definitely be preordering the next series on the first day and keeping an eye on you when the metal stampers are ready for delivery to Sony! ;-)

Now you know the sad saga of how I ended up with a high order number.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Confession Time

Heather,

You're an amazing woman! You really are an inspiration around here. I must point out however, that I will never love cardio. It's just not possible. The closest I have come to loving cardio is with Coach Sean:+ and his Cardio Coach audio programs. I do love my elliptical trainer.

Step is hard for me. I can do it maybe once or twice a week and that's about it. It bothers my hip for some reason. The elliptical trainer has proved to be the smartest investment I have ever made, although IT would be boring without the audio workouts.

I do have some kickboxing DVD's but I'm not very good at that either. I am so NOT graceful  . I'm a klutz with a capital "K". I had a personal trainer for years and even she couldn't get me to do cardio;) . I do well with strength training workouts, though. I love Cathe's endurance and Gym Style workouts.

Thanks for all your fun and frolic. You're a real breath of fresh air!

Perhaps the Loretta LaRoche workout will be good for the cardio haters.
It's called "Laugh Your Ass Off" or LYAO. It rocks!
