While chatting with a neighbor about home workouts, I introduced her to Cathe. Is she too advanced? she asked. Because she had just gotten a workout system that was too much for her. Maybe she should've gotten Slim-in-6? I said I've heard of Slim-in-6 but never tried it. What was this workout system she got? Turned out to be P90X.
Oh goodness, did all the blood run up to my ears. Whoa! I've heard a LOT about it, I told her. After chatting and comparing notes, we decided to trade. Some of my Cathe strength DVD's for her P90X.
So far I've done Chest and Back, Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper and Stretch. Holy crap! Now I know what everyone's been talking about. I don't have a way to do pull-ups so I used a 45-lb. BB for rows. I just ordered bands from a wholesale fitness site, different resistance/colors, and cheaper than I would get at beachbody. I never realized there are hundreds of ways to do push-ups. Love, love those killer dive bombers!
For Shoulders and Arms I used lower weights than usual and had a goal for only 12 per exercise. To my surprise I was able to bang out 16-20 reps. So next time, I'll use my usual weights an see how it goes. I do have a problem with those crouching cohen curls. I used a pair of 10's, which is light for me, but I felt those weights in my lower back, due to the way my body has to be positioned. So if you know of any modifications, please share. I have a small curve in my lower back so I have to be careful.
I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the series. I'm not following any rotation yet since I want to try out everything first. This series is on a loaner until I get my own, so I'm ordering one right now. I know I said I still choose Cathe over anything but this is what I need NOW. New moves, new ways to work my body. I just hope I won't have the ordering problems some of you have experienced.
