I hate that 15 lb body bar!

I have been doing PS/Strong Leg/Abs for a long time now and decided recently to buy the 15 lb. body bar they do the floor work with. (I've always done the leg lifts with ankle weights) Just wondering if most of you do those with a body bar?? The 15 lb. bar is way too much weight for me and I find myself struggling and in pain, which surprised me because I've been at this strength training thing a long time and can handle heavy weights for standing leg exercises, but not laying on the floor like that. (Guess I should have ordered a lighter bar!) :-( Anyone else have this problem?

I have a 12 # bar, and it's tough! 15# would be torture! LOL! But these are small muscle groups that we're working with the floor work (adductors and abductors). When you do compound moves, like squats and lunges, the big muscles do a lot of the work (quads, hamstrings, glutes).

As you work your way up to the body bar (maybe!) you can take a dumbbell and hold it on the inner or outer thigh above the knee (I wouldn't recommend using ankle weights for inner/outer thigh work, because pressure is then put on the knee at an angle that it doesn't normally bend at. Ankle weights are fine for "donkey kick" type moves, or moves that follow the normal bend of the knee.)
