I Hate Cardio - Sept 1

August

Cathlete
Hey!

I tried out Basic Step. I did my Jari Love this morning at 6:30am (since I got up at 4am x( ) and then suddenly felt inspired to try out the step.

It was so fun! (Probably because I could figure it out on my first try. unlike Bodymax LOL.) It was really light...my Polar says I burned 180 calories. Small but feels good! (And after the extra scoop of peanut butter I had this morning, I'll take the 180 burned!)

Okay, before I get ready to go to work, I have a question for Diane,...well, actually, I guess you all will know, so give me some of your expert advice.

Without even knowing it at all, you've convinced me to get 2 kittens for my mom! LMAO. You guys have such a huge impact on me ;) .

I had cats growing up, but it's been ages since I had kittens. What are some must-have items, and any general advice? :p

Litter mate litter box (the electric one) with the trays and carbon filter, best invention ever...
Kitty bowls, food, a few toys (the will be missing in a few hours, kittys hide stuff all the time), lots of love and that's about it.

Kittys are real easy and don't need a lot to be happy. My kitty just loves to lay around the house and lay in the sun. Personally I don't put anything around the neck since my kitty is an indoor kitty and he would just bit it off anyway.

If the kitties are going to be out door kittys get the microchip in them just in case they run away they can be tracked. Well worth the investment.

Your mom will love you for getting her kittys. Kittys are wonderful! Even my bad kitty...his name is El Diablo Gato Rube

Pffff, El Diablo Gato Rube! LOL.

I've jotted down your suggestions. I hope I'll be able to find that litter box here. Oh, that probably sounds weird - I mean, it's time that Mom come live near where I am, so she'll be living in my apartment building (that's actually why I took a trip home - to help pack)...and that's where she'll have the kitties. So they'll be inside cats. Not a huge apartment...any suggestions on how to get them the exercise they might need in cramped corners?

Good morning fellow haters!,

I ate 1/2 of a chocolate cake (single layer) yesterday:eek: ;(. When I realized it, I took the other 1/2 and stuffed it down the garbage disposal:7 . What can I say--I saw chocolate cake and went berserk! I felt a lot better after a long, steady state cardio session with Eli.

I'm in overdrive this morning as I have a lot to do before our trip. I'll come back to chat a bit after I get a few things accomplished.:* :*

Ummm...yeah why did you not save the other 1/2 for me? Yummy cake! Well, I can report it was another night of up and down with DD. Got in about 4 good hours of sleep and then from about 1-6 every hour it was get up and cry for a few minutes. You never really fall back asleep. It sucked. Looking forward to the weekend by far. Astros game this weekend and for me nothing makes me happier than being at the ball park watching the Stros! Only 2.5 games behind in the NL wild card race. Yes, I know I don't think anyone else here is a sports junkie, but hey it beats watching the sucky a** news. My local news makes me sick, they never report any good, just makes you feel like you should stay in your house locked inside. Horrible.

Moving right along...where is everyone??

Got to go make breakfast.

August - I concur with everything Jana said (I have the same litter box). Only thing I would add is that kittens love to jump through little mazes and tunnels. We bought this cube thing with holes in it for them to jump through from Walmart for $5, and the foster mom gave us something like this that they love.

Okay, so I took a pregnancy test this morning, thought I saw a very very faint line, then didn't really see it and DH didn't see anything. Then I continued getting ready, DH left for work, and then I looked at it again. Now there is definitely a faint line. I looked at it in different lights and you can definitely see it. But I am trying not to get my hopes up because it could be an evaporation line since it was after the recommended period. I brought it to work to show DH, but of course he is in a meeting all morning! Going crazy not knowing if this means a yes or not!! I am thinking of buying a more expensive test over lunch and testing again (these were cheap dollar store tests that are supposedly very good, but still is weird they are only $1).

I just saw DH, and he sees the line too!

Diane, you are adorable! How'd your hair turn out?

Janjan, I'm sorry about your DD keeping you up yet again. That sucks. I HATE football, baseball, basketball, soccer--lol. I LOVE figure skating, though.

August, I think getting a couple of kitties for your mom is a great idea. Unlike Jana and Diane, I don't not like the electronic litter boxes (I know--I always have to be difficult--lol!). My cat was freaked out by it, and then it broke after a couple of weeks so I returned it. I have this box and I love it:

http://www.radiofence.com/omega_litter_box.htm

I worked for a vet for 5 years and there are mixed reviews on the littermate boxes. People either love them or hate them and there's no real middle ground. If your cat is the least bit skittish, he may not like the littermate box. I would read a lot of reviews on Amazon and other consumer sites before investing in that box--Just my .02.

Also, it's recommended that you have 1 litter box per cat + one. I used to have 2 cats and I used 2 boxes. I only added a 3rd box in if we had to leave them for a day or 2 and that was sufficient. I don't fully understand why you're supposed to have an extra box but I never felt I needed it, but I did need 2 boxes (you may only need one box if you use the littermate--but I'm not sure about that). The best thing is to talk to a vet and seek out their wisdom.

Time to throw a lod in teh wash--I;ll see you later:*

August - The littermate has worked fine for us for two kittens. The the kittens were a little weirded out by it at first, but now they just stand right next to it and watch it. Just don't rely on it to pick up every little thing in there. You have to scrape the bottom every few days and change the litter out competely every once in a while. But it definitely is better for us because the house doesn't smell. We didn't have a great place to put a litter box, it is just in our office, so having it not smell was key. We also bought a cover for it (which we need to put on now for the new kittens) that makes it so they have a little privacy.

Oh I can't believe I forgot to tell you! Sydney went into heat! She is moaning and growning and lifting up her tail hoping some boys will some by. Poor girl. I wish the vet would have spayed them so she wouldn't have to go through this. Any idea why the vet wanted to wait six months? They are 5 months tomorrow, so she will probably have another cycle before then (and we would be on vacation for a week during that time, don't want her to be alone). And poor Sadie, little late bloomer, might go in heat too soon I would guess. I will call the vet and see if they can push up the date so that she won't have to go through this again. She seems miserable.

Oh and by the way Michele - My hair isn't doing to great again after trying the method today. I think my product is just not good. Is there a store that carries the stuff you use, or do I have to buy it online. I might try and pick something else up this weekend.

Okay, I could not be more excited about Drill Max. It sounds so awesome. I probably won't even be able to do it when I get it if I am really pregnant now. I also also excited about Low Impact Circuit and Butts and Guts. BodyMax seems good too. I can't wait to get back in shape enough to do these types of workouts. I just don't feel up to it these days.

Oh by the way, this morning I did my 5 factor workout (bench press and lunge and reverse ab curl) and a 25 min walk for cardio.

Diane, you're breaking my heart! It looks like you're here all alone.

I'm pretty excited about LIC and B&G. I don't know about the other 2 but I pre-ordered all 4 in the very beginning because I figured I was getting 4 workouts for the price of 2 and who knows--maybe I'll be able to do DM and BM2 one day.

I bought a portable DVD player to take to the godforsaken hell hole and I'm trying to decide which cardio workouts to take with me. I've never tried Kick Max so I might take that, and a friend sent me Powerstrike 1 & 2 and I might take those. I better take a Leslie or 2 just in case those are above my ability. There's no room up there for any equipment, so I can't take my step or weights.

I better get moving. I still have some errands to run and 1 last load of laundry.

Michele - Yes, I am all alone here :( The office at work in pretty cleared out, people either not showing up and leaving after lunch on this holiday weekend. So I am thinking of leaving in an hour and testing again at home!

Let me know what you think about Powerstrike. Always been curious about those, but not need to buy workouts right now when I am not in good enough shape to do them.

Alright just replying to myself again here. I took another test and the same thing happened, didn't get a line at first but got a faint line later. So I am guessing that is a + and just so early to test that it doesn't show up right away.

I don't know if you are late or not, but wait until you are at least 2-3 days late and then take it. When I took mine it read "preggo" clear as day, and then my heart stopped and I fainted.....nine months later my cute little DD was here.

It is also better to test 1st thing in the morning when you first relieve yourself.
