I Hate Cardio, June 8

Hello!

Well, I think I'm finally caught up on my sleep. I took a THREE HOUR nap yesterday AND went to bed early last night and slept until around 8 this morning. I guess I really needed it. I didn't do my cardio yesterday. I'm so far behind on my rotation now it's not funny;( . I've decided to back up my rotation to week 8 starting Monday (I'm supposed to be starting week 10) and move forward from there. My eating has been bad, too. I've been too tired to cook so I've had a lot of carry out lately and I'm worried I'll gain my weight back if this continues.

I've been having a dull, achy feeling in my low back for several days now that kind of waxes and wanes, but it's been waxing more than waning lately. I have no idea what's wrong but I've been stretching everyday hoping that it's just some tightness from working out. If it doesn't get better in a week or 2 I may have to have it checked out. It's not excrutiating, just irritating.

Okay girls, my nephew comes on Saturday and I'm not ready for him. I have to kick it into gear today and finish up his room and tackle the bathrooms. I'll dust and vacuum the 1st floor tomorrow.

Dana, you asked how I'll entertain my nephew. Well, that's a good question. I've never had children so I'm a bit lost as to what to do with him. We're taking him to at least one movie, and DH is going to take him to the shooting range (target shooting is DH's hobby and my nephew has his own gun). He's going to spend some time with his grandparents, too. I'll rely on him to tell me what he's interested in. I'm slightly annoyed with his parents but that's a whole 'nother story. Maybe I'll tell you about it later when I have more time.

Girls, I have to get going because I'm way behind on things. I'll try to check in later. Ya'll behave now.

Michele, glad to hear that you got a nap and some sleep. But sorry to hear that you aren't feeling 100%. I agree - go get it checked out if it doesn't start feeling better. I wouldn't worry to much about falling behind in your rotation. Look how far you've made it already! :)

Today it HIIT. I"m going to try out one of the ellipticals over at the gym today. I know they are way better models then I have at home.

I made my DH go for a physical last week b/c his blood pressure was up. Yesterday he got his results back from his bloodwork and his chlosterol (sp?) is high. They enclosed a diet brochure with his results and he told me he is not going on a diet. I don't know what to do with him. He is only 31 so he should not be having health issues. But he does eat bad. He doesn't eat breakfast at home and I know that he stops for donuts, muffins, etc. in the morning, usually does fast food for lunch. I try to cook healthy although he is so snooty. Doesn't eat fish, most veggies, fruits. So I've got to figure something out for him. I do all of the grocery shopping so no more chips, ice-cream, cheese, etc. He has to get it re-checked in 2 months.

I finally found steel cut oats in my area. Made them last night for my snack and they are pretty good. I had nothing to eat for a protein and even though peanut butter is not allowed on BFL I did mix some in with my oats for protein. Wasn't too bad. Gotta stop at the grocery store on my way home from work.

Tonight we are going to a carnival. I doubt that I'm going to find anything healthy to eat there. I know that in past years they had chicken dinners so maybe I can get a piece of chicken or perhaps they will have a stand that has grilled chicken sandwiches??? If all else fails, I'll have to get a burger.

Today is my 3rd week on BFL. I'm going to change my weigh in days to Friday instead of Monday. So I'll report in tomorrow morning if I had a loss or not (hopefully not a gain). I lost 4lbs the first week, didn't weigh myself last week due to TTOM.

How is everyone else today? For some reason, I keep thinking that today is Friday.

Michele - Glad you caught up on some sleep. That is what I need to do too. This morning I was still in bed trying to get that last bit of sleep when I should have been on my way to work. I am just exhausted, and it seems like I never get a weekend to sleep in. As for things to do with your nephew, I don't know if you saw this but flylady.net is doing some kinda of Kids Camp thing where every day there are 5 or so emails on things to do over the summer with your kids. I always skip them since I have no kids and none in the family, but could be helpful for your nephew.


Dana - Good luck on your weigh in! You have been doing so well that I would be surprised if you don't lose. But the body can be weird sometimes, losing nothing one week and then 5 pounds the next week.

Because I slept in today, no workout. I have a recruiting party tonight (blah) so won't be working out tonight. I SOOO wish I didn't have to go, I am so tired.
 
Man, where is everyone today? Well, I just wanted to share a personal (non-workout related) accomplishment. I paid off one of my private student loans yesterday! It is only one of three private loans, and I still have a lot of federal student debt left (though those have much lower interest rate), along with DH's student debt, but it is one step closer to paying it all off and being able to keep more income for myself! I was so excited I just wanted to share.

Getting those loans paid off is such a relief---a real sense of freedom to be out from under. I'll never forget the day I made my last student loan payment. I'm really happy for you:)

I've been busy as all get out and don't have time to post much. I'll try to post tomorrow but I have a lot to accomplish so I may not get around to it. I need to avoid the computer when I have things to do because I tend to get stuck here--lol! Anyway, we pick up our nephew on Saturday and I won't have time to post until Monday or so. I just don't want you all to think I've abandoned you;)
