I Hate Cardio Check-In - Apr. 19/06

Toasty, I don't know. I would think you'd have fully recovered by now from your blood donation. Maybe it's just one of those days. We all have them;). Do you have seasonal allergies? I do, and man oh man, the whole stuffy nose, watery eyes thing can really throw me a curve ball.

I am sorry you are suffering from allergies. I know alot of people have to go thru that right now. That stinks. So what do you take for your problem? I don't know what my problem is. If it is not from donating blood, then I would think need more sleep and more carbs. Been loading up on protein more as I am trying to burn the fat off my legs, but not necessarily burn muscle off upperbody, so it is tricky. I know I need the carbs for energy so maybe I am not getting enough. I just know I am having a off few days here. It stinks. I did BC yesterday, but did not have the energy to do PLB too. I think I need new batteries or something...do you have any I can borrow???? LOL!

Toasty--lol! Trust me, you don't want my battery! Oh, I think you should try adding more complex carbs to your diet. That could be the problem;) . Try that for a couple of weeks and see if it makes a difference.

Hi Toasty, I think you may be on to something about having more carbs. I had been on a lower carb diet (40-30-30) but once I started running I started reading up on nutrition for running and they recommend a higher carb diet. Also, during runs and workouts that last more than 1 hour, carbs need to be replenished to refuel glycogen in your muscles (drinking sports drinks, eating gu etc.). I don't see why this would apply any differently to non-running cardio workouts. If you are doing 2 hrs of working out straight, which is sounds like you do a lot, you would need sufficient carbs in your muscles before the workout, and would have to refuel during the workout too. Maybe try a higher carb breakfast before your workout and then taper off of carbs the rest of the day, so you still have lots of protein. And if you are doing a heart pumping working for more than an hour, try sipping on a sports drink during the workout as well as drinking water. Just a thought.

Char-Char~ umm...could be called being a "chick" thing today, could be lack of carbs, could be the blood thing, could be not enough sleep. Sounds like it is a carb thing. I know for me when I am low on the energy its usually a carb thing. I eat them, just the good ones, no bad ones unless it's a free day. Try drinking some green tea also, that tends to pep me up sometimes. I am also with DMoney on the sports drink thing, but sips. I have a gatorade in mt fridge that I sip before I workout and then if I need it during the work out, but only sips, no gulps. BTW-I love the thread you started. I think we are having fun with that one! hehe!

Ok I am out. Must finish cleaning this fu**ing house. Uhhh I am growing to hate this house. Maybe I am too much of a clean freak. Does moping and sweeping count as cardio? I have abour 400 sq ft of tile and I run the vaccume (sp?). for a total of 2600 sq ft. and I do the stairs, does that count?
 
I am doing everything you are saying...drink green tea constantly. Eating enough carbs for breakfast...think I lack between noon and 3ish today though. I drink alot when I lift and do cardio. You have no idea..I am surprised I don't drown.

Yeah, that thread is growing. Alot of us were picked last in gym, that is for sure.

My, we have a attitudey today about the housey hold? :D You know, I don't know why I bother? Yesterday I cleaned the floor and Stinky drinks water and dribbles all over the place so I walk in it and not only have to change my socks, but clean the floor again!!! ARRRGHHH! My DD room I don't like to walk in. Makes me cringe so I stay out. Cleaning ALWAYS takes alot out of me too. It does not count as cardio though...just is tiring as you know unless you want to do a high jog while vacuuming...is that possible? Maybe I should try? I can be weird...I just might! LOL! Not today though. Gosh, I am tired like an old doggey.

Hi gang of haters.

I finished my friggin cardio at about 8:30. I'm so glad to have it behind me...you have NO idea! I really had to force myself tonight but I knew if I didn't do it I would incur the wrath of fit_mom, aka Wendy, aka TiGGeR. It always helps to motivate you when someone threatens your life and limb. How about you guys?

Oh, Char Char, I take flonase for my allergies. It works pretty well.
