I Hate Cardio Check-In, 3/26

Miss Lee

Cathlete
Hi girls!

I'll be spending the day at the hospital again. They've confirmed the diagnosis of heart attack and my MIL is scheduled for a heart cath tomorrow morning. As you might expect, I did not do a work out yesterday but I'm going to try to do a short one today if I can. I'll confess that I'm feeling a bit fatigued. My poor DH has had a rough weekend to say the least! He has lots of things going on at work and his dad is somewhat dependent and we've been trying to see to his needs all weekend, too.

Marleysmom, I hope you slept better last night. I totally understand about the klutz prevention. You know, us haters should probably make a step DVD. Oooooo, I love it! I'll need some time to think through the details, but I think we could make a fortune off this thing. We could market it in 2 categories--fitness and comedy.:p :7

I'll probably check back later. I hope you gals have a great day!

Good morning all...ok so its like late afternoon for me already,

Once again the DD woke up at 3 am and no one went back to sleep. uhhhh.....and you would think it would click in my head to try to go to sleep before 11 pm, but that darn show "Big Love" on HBO was on last night and I just haaaadddddd to watch it. I had a talk with the DD letting her know waking up at 3am is not very nice and she is too old to be doing it. I am in the world of major stress right now. We just bought a new house (which is 30 miles from where we live currently) and in my town 30 miles means 1 hour+ to get there (traffic all the time in this darn town) so we have been trying to get that house ready to move in, buy all the crap you need for a new house and work on a baby eating every 3 hour schedule on 2-4 hours of sleep for the past 2 nights. I think I am ready to fall over.
Good news is I am doing a little experiment on myself seeing if it is true, does bad eating make you feel bad and do diet sodas make you more hungry. I will be posting my results for everyone in the next week, that is if I don't check into the mental ward for a few days so I can sleep....haha....
Ok, so enough about that.

Yes I am so for the video Michele. We would be zillionairs from the sales. People would line up for years to watch it. There would have to be a great deal of editing on it from some of the phrases that come out of my mouth when I trip over my own 2 feet! }(

Michele-Hope you and DH and MIL are hanging in there. I can only imagine how stressful this is. Sending you some more get well soon vibes.

Will report more later!

Have a fantastic Sunday everyone!

Jana

PS-working on the Pic trail, stand by! :9

Well Jana, I think we've been abandoned for the weekend. LOL!

My goodness, I think you could easily call house packing a cardio work out! You know, I've been thinking up uses for the high step and you could use yours to stand on to remove objects from high places. I think that would constitute cardio AND leg press work. See, you'd be killing 3 birds with one stone.:p

I feel for you. We've done what you're doing except that I didn't have young children to care for in the process.

Well, it's time to shower and get back to the hospital by way of the grocery store. Take care and don't kill yourself with all this work! I would NEVER condone that:D

Michele-
well at least we have made each other laugh over this crazy weekend.

I hate moving! Not only that, but I hate living in a city where it takes 4 years to get 30 miles down the road. I had to break down to my mom today over moving to the 'burbs.....we are used to urban living.....oh it's going to be a change....ohhhhh the 'burbs!

How is the MIL and DH? Hopefully hanging in there and you are too.
I did not do one drop of cardio today unless you count running up and down the stairs about 10 zillion times with boxes, pictures and all the small stuff.

You actually gave me a good idea, I needed to dust the fans today and I used my high step! haha! We don't even own a table, yes I just said we don't own a table. We never bought one since we were living in an apartment until we found a house and our DD took over the dining room with the swing and pack n play so I had nothing to stand on until your idea today. Good work!

Oh well back on the cardio kick tomorrow with KPC and the KM on Tuesday, the high step and the step already made it to the other house. I am sure I will hate cardio even more after not doing anything for 2 days, oh the pain I will feel. x(

Hope the MIL and DH are doing good. Maybe tomorrow the rest of the Cardiohaters will be back.
:p

Michele...sending prayers for your MIL's operation tomorrow. I always figure that all the good exercise habits probably prevented this from happening sooner and will aid greatly in a quick recovery.

That's it....I don't belong on this checkin so I better leave now! I'm actually of the persuasion that cardio is irrelevant compared to weightlifting (which is NOT true - only a personal view). I feel like I do cardio just for fun when I have some extra workout time I need to fill up }( }( , but in the grand scheme of things, weightlifting is a much more productive. Okay....so maybe I do hate cardio, but in more of a mental...I'm wasting my time, kind of a way. I actually have fun and feel great when I'm doing it. Do you cardio haters have Turbo Jams??? I would think they would be a fun option for cardio haters.

Sorry I abandoned the check-in for the weekend. I was out of town on Saturday visiting family so was driving most of the day. A forced rest day. Then Sunday was extra busy because I didn't have Saturday to do all the work I needed to do over the weekend.

I was able to squeeze in a 30 min run/walk on Sunday, though it felt absolutely horrible. I think it is because I ate a lot of junk on Saturday, including pasta in a cream sauce and birthday cake, and just felt yucky the next day. So yes, bad food does make me feel horrible.

I did a run/walk again this morning, this time upping the running to 7 minutes. It felt much better today, probably because I ate normally on Sunday and made sure I was well hydrated. I also made some big breakfast cookies this morning and they were soooo yummy! A really good breakfast to eat on the run when I am late.

Michele - sending more prayers towards the direction of your MIL and DH.

Jana - I hope you can get some more sleep soon!

I didn't turn the computer on all weekend so I guess that I abandoned ya'll too.

Michele, I sincerely hope everything goes smoothly with you MIL this morning. Prayers being said for her.

Hope you don't mind another Gabe story. Friday I did Bootcamp and he wanted to do it with me. We were towards the end of the workout and Cathe says we at our last cardio. Gabe says, "what is cardio?", so I tell him and then he says the unthinkable, "I LOVE CARDIO". He cannot be my son. LOL And let me tell you, for a 4 year old, he really can keep up with Cathe.

Saturday we went to my parents house. (I know, I told you guys that I was going to attempt to do Hardcore Extreme but didn't get to it). Anyway, me, Gabe and Ceasar (the dobe) went for a 45-minute walk. My parents live on 15 acres and most of it is wooded so it was really a hike rather then a walk. It was a beautiful day for a walk.

Yesterday, nothing. Sunday is usually my rest day.

Today is my usual 3.5 walk during lunch. Tonight I'm planning on doing GS Legs.

Have a great day!
