I got to play Stacey London for a day.........

This was actually a lot of fun. The mayor is taking his 13 YO daughter to a function on Thurs night so she had to buy her first formal dress. Her mother died of cancer 7 years ago so she doesn't really have a woman in her life to help her. He asked me to take her shopping & being the shop-o-holic that I am naturally I agreed.

I met her at the Short Hills mall last night. Poor thing didn't even know her size. After about a half hour of browsing I got an idea of her taste (she's a bit tomboyish) so I took her to Talbot's. She's a natural blond & I forced her to try on this green velvet number & boy did she look fabulous!

She needed a strapless bra to go w/the dress so our next stop was VS. She told the saleswoman she was a 34C & I looked at her & was like "oh no you're not." She got measured & turned out she was a 36 or 38C. I told her go for the 36 since it's strapless so there's no slippage.

I really wish I could do this for a living. I shudder to think what her experience & results would've been if she'd gone w/her dad.

LOL Laura. That's a great story! Thanks for sharing. It was super nice of you to do that for her. You are right...going w/her dad could have caused her irreversible damage as well as an awful outfit! ;) :p :7 :7 :7

Actually, we're not sure if she's 13. They adopted her & her brother from Russia & if I had to guess I'd say she's closer to 15, but 13 is what's on her govmt & school records

Also, I'm thinking a 36C on a 13 YO is much more of a curse than a blessing. If she's still growing (& I'm guessing she is--she's 5'4" & her shoe size is 9!) she's in for some serious back problems in her future.

Laura, that sounds so fun! Shelley, I wouldn't be envious. When I was 11 years old, I was the second tallest girl in my class and had the biggest boobs. I towered over the boys and felt awkward and awful. What's nice on a 25-yr. old isn't necessarily so great on a tween.

>Ok not to be stupid or anything but who is Stacey London?
>LD

LD, Stacey London is the female half of the duo on "What Not to Wear," the version that plays on TLC. (There's another duo on the original BBC version of this show - Trinny and Susannah.) The object is to teach a particularly sartorially offensive individual how to dress to one's body type.
