I did PLB for the first time and.....

I didn't have the high step. I used my club step on the highest I have, 2 risers each side. My heart was RACING when I finished the squats and lunges. I am in pretty good shape, do lomax and HIIT cardio on a regular basis. Has anyone else experienced this? I am hesitant now to try this on the higher step!

Do you regularly do leg workouts, like GS Legs and L&G? Legs almost act as cardio, they're so intense. They really get your heart rate up.

Oh gosh, the leg work is MM is NOTHING compared to doing an entire leg work (as you just found out:p). You should order the high step. It doesn't necessarily make things harder, it just works them differently:)

I have the high step but I haven't used it much yet. Going to be using it for PLB soon, approx. how many risers should I start out with?..I'm 5'3".

I actually use my husband's weight bench for those...just going up and down on the end of then bench (has a loaded barbell on the other end) and the sweat really starts to fly by the time I'm done.

OK Shelley, I'm going to have to trust you on this one. Sports authority has a high step for right around 50 dollars. I am just hoping it's not too intense for me. I am excited though cause this means it's something I haven't been doing that I need to do!

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, but not to Cathe. I was just reading your question. I think you just need to get used to doing intense leg stuff. Try it with your step a few more times before you order the high step. When you do make the purchase for the high step, don't go full force into it, try it with no weights or lighter weights to start out, then gradually add in heavier weights as you feel more comfortable.

Good luck,

Jen
