How much strength i lost in 2 weeks.
I did gym style legs with nothing over 25 (feeling better).
Oh my it was tough. I was really shaking. I was upto 40+ on most of the leg work.
Please tell me this will come back fast.
I can increase back up in another week, but i think it may take longer.
Any suggestions or anyone had to quit for a couple weeks and try to get back into things. It is killing me.
I feel like i have never worked out......
I am going to feel some serious doms later, i know it..

Give yourself a break. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your strength will come back. Don't rush it. The important part is that you are exercising!

You're recovering from surgery. It's quite possible that you haven't lost as much strength as you think, but simply that your body is still recovering. Cut it some slack.

I agree with Shelley. Your just weak right now as your body is recovering. Rest will help you become strong again. Don't push it though or you will set yourself back more.

Hi Anne,

What kind of surgery did you have, cause I had foot surgery and I'm wondering too how much strength I will have.

Glad everything has gotten better.

I had gall bladder.
I am healed up pretty good.
Doc said i can slowly increase from 20 lbs, but if i feel pulling lighten up.I haven't really done much lifting till Sunday. Today chest feels almost back to normal.
Tomorrow makes 2 weeks. He told me 20 lbs. I told him 20 in each hand and he laughed at me.
He said i did well and incisions were healed. Stitches on the inside would dissolve, use common sense.

I promise ladies, i am not overdoing it.
It was my legs that were shaking, especially on the lunges, yowza...
I skipped the floor work, because you need to use alot of abs for them,. I am gonna wait till next week for that.
You should still be able to do floor work and upper body.

Oh no Anne, you just confirmed my worst fear. I've be out of my workouts for about 7 weeks due to a bad car accident. I lost my nice crease on my thutt and getting a little soft looking. I've been riding the bike a little but I haven't been able to lift during this time, doctors orders. Strength training was my favorite, and I'm scared all my hard work will be gone. Please let us know if you are able to gain ground quicker this time, than intially getting there. I have heard muscles have memory like someone before said and I have my fingers that you will regain your strength quickly. Wishing you a speed recovery, and keep us posted.
Take care and best wishes.
